Galina Benislavskaya (née Quarry) (1897-1926) was the last love of the famous Russian poet Sergei Yesenin.
She turned out to be so attached to her lover that a year after his death she decided to commit suicide. The drama unfolded on December 3, 1926 at Yesenin's grave at the Vagankovsky cemetery.
The woman carefully prepared for the journey into the "world of shadows." She took a box of cigarettes, a revolver, a finca, and hastily wrote a note.
“She killed herself here, although I know that after that even more dogs will be hanged on Yesenin. But neither he nor I will care. In this grave for me everything is most precious, therefore, in the end, do not give a damn about Sosnovsky (One of the main stranglers of the poet. On his orders, Moscow newspapers published articles allegedly on behalf of the workers who demanded reprisals against the "kulak poet") occasion ".
All this cannot but suggest that G. Benislavskaya was mentally ill. It is known from the scanty archival materials that her mother suffered from a severe mental disorder, and Galina herself, during her work in the Cheka secretariat, was twice treated for neurasthenia.
So, the suicide took a revolver in her hand, directed its muzzle into the heart, pulled the trigger and … a misfire followed. On the box of cigarettes, Benislavskaya indicates this. Then she again and again presses the trigger, but something invisible does not allow the woman to put the last point. Only the sixth attempt succeeded - the bullet pierced the heart of the suicide.
Later, G. Benislavskaya's will was found, where she asked to bury herself next to her beloved. It was completed on December 7th. The words “Faithful Galya” are inscribed on a small monument.

Four revolver misfires

After a preliminary examination of the firearms, the police representative was surprised: the primers of four rounds withstood several strikes from the striker, but the flammable composition remained inert. True, an 8-year-old child received burns from a blank shot and therefore was sent to the capital's hospital.
The youngster found the revolver on the football field last year and immediately decided to show off to his grandfather. He, without hesitation, took away a dangerous toy and hid it under lock and key. But one evening, when no one was at home, the boy managed to find the keys and open the box. Grandmother Maria Morales admits that before the misfortune, her eldest grandson threatened to take revenge on the younger, suspecting that he had stolen his audio player.
“I stayed with my daughter when a strong pop was heard from the next room. A moment later, the younger one ran into us with a burnt face and sobbing from unbearable pain,”said Maria, who immediately called an ambulance.
It was not difficult for the police to identify the culprit of the incident, but only parents can punish him, since according to Costa Rican laws, children under 12 years old are not brought to justice in court.
