The mystery of the "Dyatlov Pass", which at the beginning of 2016 again appeared on the front pages of the media and the main pages of Internet portals, turns out to have a very real explanation. This is the conclusion reached by a scientist from St. Petersburg, Evgeny Buyanov.

As you know, in 1959, a group of student tourists of 9 people, led by Igor Dyatlov, went on a hike to Mount Holatchakhl in the Northern Urals. However, none of them returned from this campaign. After some time, the bodies of the entire group were found not far from the tent, in which they stayed for their last night on the night of February 2. The impression was that someone or something forced them to get out of the tent without equipment and practically without clothes. All the victims were found to have serious lifetime injuries: fractures, bruises, hemorrhages, etc.

Over the past 50-odd years, many versions have appeared of what actually happened at the Dyatlov Pass. However, Evgeny Buyanov claims that the death of tourists was quite natural and was due to the fault of the victims themselves. Buyanov, who is a master of sports in tourism, said that young people simply could not organize their trip correctly. In particular, they set up the tent in such a way that it broke a layer of snow and ice, did not insure against a sudden change in weather conditions, and also went to bed without lighting a fire.

According to Buyanov, that fateful night the snow moved and crushed the tent where the students slept. Hence, injuries appeared on their bodies. Some tourists managed to cut the fabric of the tent and get out into the street, but soon froze to death.
