130 years ago, miners in Moberley, Missouri, while developing a coal mine, accidentally stumbled upon a "wonderful city" buried under the ground at a depth of about 360 feet. The news of this event was replete with the newspapers of 1885.
As it was possible to learn from these publications, during further excavations, numerous artifacts were found: stone benches, bronze and flint knives, stone and granite hammers, metal figurines, fountains, seemingly filled with the purest water (a more detailed examination revealed the opposite).
“The remains of a human body were found near the fountain,” writes The Daily Globe. “Judging by the size of the bones, the figures of the people inhabiting this place were three times higher than the average modern person, they also had enviable muscles and speed.”
The Semi-Weekly South Kentuckian has published the measurement results:
“The femur is about 1.4 meters, the tibia is slightly less, 1.3 meters. The skull bones were split into two parts, the sagittal and coronary sutures were destroyed."
The city was buried under a thick layer of lava. It looks like it even had its own road network. A hall with benches was also found, on which were laid tools for various purposes.
The researchers, who spent twelve hours searching for new discoveries, were forced to give up looking for any end of their find simply because of the lack of oil in the lamps.
Be that as it may, the found artifacts are quite enough to draw conclusions about the high development of this civilization.

The author of the news could not find any information about the subsequent research of this city. However, it is possible that somewhere in the historical documents of Moberly it still exists.
