In the biography of Vlad Tepes, there is an interesting fact: he began to use torture by colossing only after being held hostage by the Turks (although he could not have known about it before, since he took an active part in the war with this people). What did he get from impaling other people with such obvious bloodthirsty satisfaction, noticed by those around him, that we involuntarily wondered: what spectacles appeared to the eyes of the future twelve-year-old count during his stay in Turkey? How did the Turks torture their prisoners?..
After reviewing the historical materials, in addition to the custom of impaling, we found evidence of the death penalty, called the "Turkish chair", from the 11th century. The torture presupposed the presence of a chair, on which the tortured person was firmly fixed - in order to screw a large screw into his neck, thereby gradually breaking the cervical vertebrae. The victim did not die immediately; the torture could go on for a long time and bring terrifying pain.
Only one thing can be said about the more modern Turkish torture: official documents dating from the 1980s and 2000s inevitably involve sexual connotations in any kind of torture. The torturers seek not only to humiliate the victim with physical violence (beating, keeping his face on the floor in uncleanness, etc.), but also moral - such as deprivation of virginity and rape in front of relatives and friends, stripping naked, forcing to feed on uncleanness, and others.
However, first, let's deal with physical torture in more detail.
Very often, almost always, representatives of the authorities in Turkey, when suppressing resistance from the captured oppositionists, use electric shock torture. They can go both separately and in conjunction with dousing with ice water, hanging by the wrists for a long time, threats to kill, accompanied by beating with sticks on the heels. Often, only the victim's genitals prefer "torture": nipples, testicles, electrodes are inserted into the vagina or connected to the penis. At the same time, a person is blindfolded so that he does not know which place will be shocked next time, and could not, straining, reduce the force of his impact. In fact, this combination of physiological and psychological torture looks even more brutal than police brutality in Russia. There were even cases of death after hammering a long iron nail into the head of the tortured person.
The topic of sex is revealed in Turkish torture especially well, showing all the perversion of the mind of this people. For women, large objects are inserted into the anus and vagina. Men are also "raped" with various objects anally; cases of compression of the testicles are also mentioned. Such rapes can continue for days on end (up to 15 days and longer). In the process of checking girls for virginity, they can easily be deprived of this very virginity, i.e. in the eyes of her own family and that of her future husband, she will be dishonored, tarnished, disgraced. In addition, sexual harassment by investigators includes squeezing a woman's breasts, strangling, and tying a piece of wood to her wide-spread arms so that the victim cannot resist. It also happened that prisoners were forced to rape each other.
The Turkish government denies the legality of such torture. However, it is extremely rare for victims of arbitrariness to survive and get to court. And even if this happens, the judge almost always decides the case not in their favor.
