A girl born in India with a growth on her face that looks like a small trunk, she became an object of worship, as she was perceived as the embodiment of the Hindu god Ganesha.

An unusual baby was born in the village of Aligarh, in northern India, on Thursday, March 26. Upon learning of this, people began to flock to see the newborn baby, because they consider her to be the embodiment of the Hindu deity Ganesha, who also has a trunk.

According to the girl's relatives, crowds of people come to their house every day, bringing with them offerings for the child.

“My husband's sister gave birth to a baby girl at 7 o'clock in the morning, and her face looks exactly like Lord Ganesh's,” said the aunt to the newborn.

The girl's father, who already has three children, earns only 250 rupees ($ 5.17) a day and hopes that the birth of his unusual daughter will change the fate of his family, writes the Times of India.

In turn, experts have found a less divine justification for such an unusual appearance of the child. They believe that the deformity of the girl's face could have occurred due to a gene mutation as a result of malnutrition.
