"UFO researchers around the world were simply shocked by the information received from Russian Karelia and related to the events that happened with the train N 1702," wrote Paul Stonehill, director of the California Center for Russian UFO Research. What shocked UFO researchers so much?

On February 17, 1985, freight train N1702 followed the usual route from Petrozavodsk, through Suoyarvi to Kostomuksha. It consisted of 70 empty cars and a two-section diesel locomotive. The train was driven by driver Sergei Orlov and his assistant Viktor Mironov.

The train proceeded through the settlement of Essoila and continued to move to the station Novye Peski. At 20 hours 35 minutes. The diesel locomotive crew suddenly noticed that on the right, behind the trees, parallel to the train, some strange object was moving, representing a luminous translucent ball of regular geometric shape, "the size of a soccer ball."

A few minutes later, the incredible happened. The “ball” changed its direction of flight, quickly “went” across the train and ended up 30-50 m in front of the locomotive.

The driver tried to stop the train, turned off the propulsion engines and activated the braking system, but the train continued to steadily move forward behind the "ball" - some unknown force was pulling him.

The "ball" moved in front of the locomotive without sound, without touching the ground. He "dragged" the train along, but how it was impossible to understand. Orlov contacted the operator on duty at the Novye Peski station (the radio worked smoothly all the time) and tried to explain to her what was happening. The woman on duty did not understand anything, but went out to meet the approaching train.

After a while, she saw that a diesel locomotive was approaching the entrance switch, ahead of which was a luminous "ball", and in front of it was some red vibrating object similar in shape to an inverted "basin" (the driver and his assistant did not see this object).

At the entrance switch, the “ball” separated from the locomotive and “walked around” the station, although it was always in the field of view of the driver and his assistant.

After passing the station Novye Peski, Orlov and Mironov noticed that the “ball” “went” across the train and again took its place in front of the diesel locomotive, while a “blow” occurred and the speed dropped sharply.

In the locomotive's cabin, various objects fell on the floor, and the driver and his assistant hit the windshield, but there were no serious injuries.

The brakes did not work at that time, so the reason for the braking was not in them: the "Brake line break" lamp did not light up, the pressure in the brake cylinders also did not rise, although the train slowed down noticeably.

From the transcript of the subsequent conversation between the drivers and the specialists who were investigating the mysterious incident.

Orlov: We proceeded to the Novye Peski station, and after the exit arrows we suddenly see that this object is approaching us back. Coming very fast. Very high speed. How many meters did it reach us there?

Mironov: A hundred meters, probably …

Orlov: And we even got up with Victor when he approached us. And suddenly they felt as if a collision had occurred. The feeling of collision.

Mironov: The train slowed down sharply.

Question: Beat without sound, of course?

Orlov: A blow without a sound. Not braking. The fact of the matter is that it was not braking, but the train sharply slowed down.

Mironov: It seems as if we hit something, and quite hard, since we were thrown forward onto the windshield.

Orlov: Outside the Novye Peski station, there was no pressure drop in the brake line, but the train slowed down sharply, and the high-speed tape recorded all this. This is an objective fact that cannot be avoided.

Question: And (in the tape) is the pressure in the brake line also noted?

Orlov: Everything is literally noted there: speed, time, pressure in the brake line, everything is recorded there.

Question: It turns out that you did not apply braking, but the speed of the train slowed down?

Orlov: The speed dropped sharply by ten kilometers.

However, then the train began to pick up speed again, and without any action on the part of the locomotive crew. It was possible to stop the train only at the station Zastava, on the approach to which the "ball" flew away from the train and disappeared behind the forest.

The Novye Peski - Zastava section cannot be driven without a load, although the train's speed increase occurred for some unknown reason, and in fact the entire section to the Zastava station passed without fuel consumption.

From the transcript of the conversation.

Orlov: They tell me at the depot: you had to drive under load. And I say no. There was no load. The entire section was going without load. And no one can explain this.

I'll tell you frankly: if they told me that this is the case, I would not believe it. I would not believe that this section could be driven without load.

There even half a distance cannot be passed without load. Even if you accelerate and start up the train, it will not pass without load and half the distance.

Mironov: And this "ball" was next to us, slightly ahead of the locomotive. And the train was "attracted" to him.

Orlov: And what is interesting: I would need to gain positions in order to accelerate and drive at a set speed, to perform variable moves, and the train pulls without load. I am not gaining positions.

The train pulls and that's it. At the 448th kilometer, the climb, here I always gained positions so that there was traction. And then there was no need for this.

We were drawn to the ascent to the Zastava station. He "pulled in" us. Not that we were driving a train at our positions - it pulled us in. Fiction!

At the station Zastava, an oncoming train was expected, which followed to Petrozavodsk. Until his passage, the "ball" did not appear. Concerned about the condition of the locomotive, Sergei Orlov came down from the cockpit and began to check the slopes.

From the transcript of the conversation.

Orlov: I went out to inspect the locomotive, which is supposed to be done according to the instructions at each stop. I walked through the chassis with a flashlight, knock with a hammer …

Suddenly it became light as day. It illuminated me. I turned around, and this "ball" was shining a "searchlight". I also looked at myself - it seems like all white. In general, of course, out of fear he ran into the cockpit. More precisely, even "flew" into it.

Question: "Ball" shone very brightly?

Orlov: Yes, very bright. When I went out to inspect the carriage, it was very dark, there was no light, but it became very light.

Mironov: And when Sergei literally flew into the cockpit, passed the oncoming one, and we continued our journey again.

The "ball" was again in front of the train, and again the train continued to move under the influence of an unknown force. After some time, the "ball" suddenly "broke away" from the train, described an arc in the air and finally disappeared behind the forest.

This whole story lasted one hour and twenty minutes, the "ball" "dragged" the train over fifty kilometers, due to which three hundred kilograms of diesel fuel were saved, and the participants in this event experienced a severe nervous shock.

The reliability of the incident is confirmed by the diagrams of the recorders installed on the locomotive, and other official documents.

From the transcript of the conversation.

Orlov: The head of the Petrozavodsk locomotive depot was Aleksey Ivanovich Ponomarev, then Illarion Illarionovich Palchun, his deputy for operation and brake instructor Vyacheslav Olegovich Ulichev, our instructor Viktor Ivanovich Olin.

Everyone was surprised that the flow rate turned out to be very small, and they cannot explain this. Saving 300 kilograms. And with our current standards, you will not get any savings, only one burnout.

Question: And 300 kilograms is how much you can travel?

Orlov: Within an hour.

Question: So you drove this hour virtually without fuel?

Orlov: Yes, that's how we saved that hour.

Question: So, you can drive 300 kilograms of fuel at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour for an hour?

Orlov: Yes, somewhere like that.

Mironov: As for fuel economy, that's for sure. There is no mistake here, because we take fuel from hand to hand. All this is specially recorded and taken into account.

The very meaningful behavior of the "ball" is noteworthy. He “bypassed” the station, “waited” for the oncoming train to pass, and so on, that is, he acted like a living rational being.

At the same time, the "ball" had the ability to concentrate and realize enormous energy potentials. Only this can explain the fact that he could easily "drag" a train weighing 1560 tons over a distance of fifty kilometers.

What happened on that February evening with the N1702 train? This is just one of the many mysteries that are associated with UFOs and are difficult to explain.

Some researchers of this mysterious case have noticed three strange coincidences. Perhaps they are just coincidences, or perhaps there is something behind this.

First. The train N1702 was pulled by a UFO on February 17, i.e. 17.02.

Second. UFO - one (1) - dragged 70 cars and 2 diesel locomotives. In total, again according to the numbers 1702.

Third. The ground for Petrozavodsk was found by the expedition of Peter I in 1702. Train N1702, dragged by unknown objects, left Petrozavodsk.

And one more detail that may seem like a simple coincidence. The story with the "ball" greatly tired the diesel locomotive brigade. Orlov said that in the end he could not resist and "turned" to the "ball" with a request to leave them alone.

At the same moment, the "ball" flew off the train and disappeared behind the forest. The driver got the impression that the "ball" heeded his request. This is the end of this story.

In principle, no one is surprised at the fact that this strange and completely inexplicable incident happened on the territory of Karelia. The territory of Karelia, as it turned out, is very attractive for strange "visitors".

The most popular with them are the districts that still have preserved ancient religious buildings on their territory - Zaonezhie, Pudozh, Belomorsky districts, the islands of Ladoga and White lakes.

Is it coincidental? At present, in the circles of serious UFO researchers, there is a very well-founded opinion that the frequency of observations of celestial phenomena in many cases is directly related to special points on the surface of our planet.

Such points are usually called geoactive zones. These places are characterized by a fairly specific impact on the environment, on flora, fauna and humans, as well as many mysterious, not yet studied properties.

According to one of the common points of view, these zones are special "acupuncture" points on the body of our planet, through which it, as if through antennas, carries out energy-information exchange with outer space.

Overlaying the territories of known anomalous zones and azimuths of UFO flights in Karelia made it possible to establish that UFOs clearly "prefer" to move along the energy channels connecting these zones, and based on a long-term analysis of the regularities of the geographical location of foci of ancient cultures in this region, migration routes of the population, with surprise, you state that the distant ancestors, when erecting religious sanctuaries and building settlements, also took into account these features of the geological structure of the Earth.

All this explains the steady interest of Western and Russian ufologists and occultists in this region. It is in these regions that there are some "energy fields", monuments of ancient civilizations have been preserved, for esotericists this is a fertile land full of unsolved mysteries and amazing mysteries that feed our imagination and thought. Solving them means understanding our past and present.
