In Moscow, the police detained a teacher at a Moscow college who kept radioactive substances at home and irradiated his friend, who wanted to become immortal. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a source in the city's law enforcement agencies.

“At the end of last week in the west of Moscow, a 35-year-old man was detained. Six kilograms of radioactive substances were found in his apartment on Aviatorov Street, and another eight kilograms were found in the garage on Volynskaya Street,” the source said.

As reported in the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow, the detention was carried out by officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Solntsevo district, together with specialists of the UFSKN in Moscow. The detainee turned out to be a teacher at one of the Moscow colleges.

As a source in the city's law enforcement agencies explained, various metal objects, parts from equipment, radioactive soil were found at the place of searches.

“The man explained to the police that he had a friend who wanted to become immortal, for this he irradiated his friend with radiation. A friend even went to the Chernobyl accident zone to receive radiation and become immortal,”the source said.

The source added that the man took out the objects contaminated with radiation, visiting special places, caches, without specifying which ones. All radioactive items have now been removed and placed in special containers.

On Sunday, March 24, a criminal case was opened against the detainee under the article "illegal handling of nuclear materials or radioactive substances", which provides for up to seven years in prison.
