Employees of the zoological museum at the Yakutsk State University named after Maxim Ammosov on Wednesday exhibited an unusual exhibit - a fox with two muzzles and four eyes, born 10 days ago at the Pokrovskaya Fur Farm, a representative of the museum told RIA Novosti
“Ten days ago, at the Pokrovskaya fur farm, a black-brown fox gave birth to an unusual cub - on a very wide forehead, the baby had two muzzles with four eyes at once,” the source said. According to him, the rest of the fox was born quite normal - a small black body, two ears, four legs, one tail, all organs are arranged in the usual way.
“Such an unusual case was immediately reported to the staff of the Faculty of Biology and Geography of the Yakutsk State University named after Maxim Ammosov. And just a few days ago, the frozen body of a fox, which did not live a day, was taken to Yakutsk for research,”said a representative of the zoological museum.
Experts suggest, he added, that the mutation was due to toxic or food poisoning of the mother fox at an early stage of pregnancy. As a result, a mutant with two muzzles and four eyes was born. “In the zoological museum, a stuffed animal was made from the body of a fox, and now everyone can see this unusual exhibit,” the source said.
According to him, this is not the first unusual exhibit that is on display in the museum. “In our museum you can see an albino fox, a five-legged muskrat, an elk with abnormal horns, a unicorn roe deer, a white muskrat, a black hare, a capercaillie-black grouse hybrid,” said a spokesman for the zoological museum.
