According to Ray Kurzweil, the famous American inventor, who is often jokingly called "modern Thomas Edison", humanity is almost close to the possibility of immortality. As the person behind the creation of the first modern scanner, a text-to-speech translation device for the blind, a vocal synthesizer, a musical synthesizer and much more, Kurzweil seems to perfectly understand the vector of technological trends and is quite capable of predicting further development in a variety of directions. And if you believe history, as well as Kurzweil's opinion, humanity is not far from knowing the possibility of a very long life.

In a recent episode of News Hour, produced by the American broadcaster PBS, Ray noted that death, which he used to describe as "the great thief of relationships, knowledge and meaning," will soon be defeated. The Futurist insists that our species is on the verge of discovering a "vaccine for the disease of aging" and will very soon open the "path to eternity."

Considering the giant strides in the discovery and development of technology made by humanity in recent years, Kurzweil says that immortality is no longer something infinitely impossible for us. All those millennia, Kurzweil says, that we have spent in search of a rational explanation for death, will soon become irrelevant, and we no longer have to simply accept the so-called inevitable fate of retreating to another world. Referring to the "exponential growth of information technology", the inventor also makes a prediction that in the near future we will invent computers the size of blood cells that will move inside our bodies, treat all our ailments and connect to cloud servers. All this, according to Kurzweil, will happen already "in the 2030s."

According to Ray, all of this is an integral part of our cycle. In the end, all of humanity in its entire history has really evolved, significantly increasing the level of life expectancy. And the next step for us is to gain immortality. Within 10-15 years, the inventor says, we will be able to find a way to get rid of absolutely all physical malfunctions of our body. Or at least we can no longer depend on our physical capabilities. Part of our thinking and consciousness will be in the cloud, and if necessary, we will be able to restore ourselves in other shells.

“If something is lost, we can recreate it without any problem,” says Kurzweil.
