An expedition of Russian scientists, exploring the mysterious caves of Altai and Mongolia, ended up on the threshold of the underworld. The head of the expedition, Professor Ernst Muldashev, tells about his secrets. - We were lucky that the best expert on Altai legends, Vasily Oinoshev, was joined by an equally knowledgeable person - Arzhan Kozerkov, who is popularly called "bilir-kyshy", which translates as "initiate". They told us the following.

According to Altai views, there are three worlds on Earth: upper, middle and underground. Angels live in the upper world, and his ruler is called Uch-Kurbustin, with whom only very strong shamans can communicate. In the middle world live people, animals, plants, as well as mountains and stones, with whose spirits shamans always communicate.

The underworld has three levels. The first level is called “sukyr-kara”, which can be translated as “black and blind”. Mainly "human eyes" live here, which look like balls. They are immaterial, but shamans can see them. Sometimes "human eyes" can reincarnate into a material person. If the “human eyes” are angry, they glow with a red light.

On the first level of the underworld, there are also many unusual kind of disembodied creatures that are called upon to guard the entrances to the underworld. Among them, creatures that look like four-eyed dogs, small asuri that look like commas, and snake people stand out. At the first level, Almys often appear - incorporeal creatures of the second level, capable of taking on various forms, most often - a bird-man. The first level includes underground passages and cities.

The second level of the underworld is called the Land of the Red Khan. At this level, the inner sun shines, there is an inner sea of yellow color, in the center of which is the palace of the Red Khan named Erlik. In this world live people who have different looks: four-armed, two-faced, etc. There are unknown machines that use the power of a stone, the Judgment of Conscience takes place over the souls of dead earthly people, and it is decided where the Spirit will be directed in the next life - white or dark world.

Almys are servants of the Red Khan. They make mounds and protect them. Almys will never let ordinary people into the underworld. Only "heroes" who have the gift of reincarnation into an incorporeal person, similar to "human eyes", can enter here, so that in this state they can fly through a narrowing underground tunnel and reach the place where the tunnel becomes the size of an eye of a needle, behind which a bright world opens with the yellow sea. But to get to the palace of the Red Khan, a person must cross the yellow sea along a hairline. Erlik's nine daughters will seduce him at the same time. A person should not succumb to temptation.

The third level of the underworld is called the Land of the Gray Khan or the Land of Silence. This is the largest and most powerful world. An unimaginably large number of people sit silently in their seats. They look like the dead. But the spirits of these people do not just fly, they have tremendous power. The people of the Red Khan often use the power of the Gray Khan. The Human Eyes obey the Gray Khan. It is the Gray Khan who gives special abilities and dedication to terrestrial people.

- If we take into account the Altai legends, then one gets the impression that the Land of the Red Khan is Shambhala, and the Land of the Gray Khan is the Kingdom of the Dead, described in many ancient sources.

- The coincidence is very close, especially with the Tibetan descriptions of the underworld. But Tibet is not so far from Altai. But the coincidences with the ideas about the underworld of Ancient Babylon (the territory of Iraq), the Mapuchi Indians (Chile) and even the Rapanui people of Easter Island are quite remarkable and may indicate that knowledge about the underworld is of a common terrestrial nature.

- Please list those circumstantial evidence that may indicate the real existence of the underworld.

- Firstly, these are underground passages, which are clearly artificial and cannot be created at a modern technical level. Let us recall at least a Mongolian cave in the shape of a ball with a passage, a round hole in Altai, a pipe-cave on Easter Island, underground cities in Egypt, a well in Syria, and so on.

Secondly, these are “balls” that are captured by a digital camera and which are found in almost all underground passages. It is quite possible that these very "balls" are the legendary "human eyes".

Thirdly, these are images of bird-people both in Altai and on Easter Island, which are considered as builders of dungeons here and there.

Fourth, the underground passages all over the world have a small diameter, although all legends say that "heroes" and giants live in the underworld. This is consistent with the beliefs that one can enter the underworld only by reincarnating, that is, by dematerializing and gaining an incorporeal form with the subsequent materialization of the body. The phenomenon of dematerialization is not so fantastic - there are entire schools in India dedicated to this.
