One of them, whose time of service was in the 90s, recalled that somehow he had to investigate strange killings and mutilations of animals at the local zoo in Newquay.
This information was also confirmed by the former zoo caretaker, saying that one day, having come to work, he found a terrible picture: many animals and birds were decapitated and bled.
According to the caretaker, the victims of the unknown monster were small kangaroos, as well as swans and geese, whose heads were not just cut off, but torn off, but there was practically no blood in the corpses - it was as if they had drunk it.
According to an elderly zoo worker, both the police and the city hall believed that the zoo was attacked by aliens who, for some reason, were injured and needed fresh blood.
However, the cryptozoologist himself was skeptical about the story of the interlocutor and came to the conclusion that the point was not aliens, but some kind of ritual of Satanists.

Deciding to question him later, Downes made an appointment a couple of days later, but the caretaker did not show up. It turned out that he died two days after the conversation.
Despite the expert opinion that death was caused by natural causes, the cryptozoologist did not believe in her, deciding that the caretaker had died not without the help of "otherworldly forces."
A few years later, he obtained an official response from the Newquel Zoo: the documents that were sent from there contained facts that the attack of an unknown animal on pets was not isolated, such cases were recorded several times.
True, every time in the zoo they repeated that the culprits were human-flayers who entered the zoo to mutilate the animals, but the report also contained information that the unknown, having killed small and harmless animals, also made an effort to break into the cage, where contained a lion!
And this hardly speaks in favor of the fact that fanaticism is the work of people. They easily coped with birds, small animals, but to kill a lion by ripping off his head is beyond the power of any person. Unless, of course, he is endowed with mystical power and cruelty.
However, the cryptozoologist is confident that these attacks are not human. He assures that the bloody tricks could be carried out by one animal - the Beast of Dartmoor.
