Doctors in Pakistan continue to study the phenomenon of two local residents, young brothers, who completely lose their motor functions after sunset.

In one of the Pakistani families, there are boys who are very different from their peers. During the day, 13-year-old Ahmed Shoaib and his 9-year-old brother Abdul Rashid go to school or play on the street with friends, but with the onset of evening they fall into a vegetative state: they cannot move, open their mouth or eyes.

This is the first such case in the world, and doctors are studying it comprehensively. "Sunny Boys", as they are called in the country, are examined free of charge at a hospital in Islamabad; to date, more than 300 tests have been done, but the exact reason for such a strange reaction of the body has not been found.

The only thing that the doctors managed to establish was the lack of connection with the light. As part of the experiments, the brothers were placed in dark rooms during the day, and their behavior was not reflected. Thus, their bodies react to the time of day, but not to the light.

Pakistani experts took soil, water and air samples from a village where an unusual family lives; the boys' blood samples were sent to foreign colleagues, but the test results showed nothing unusual.

The main version is a genetic anomaly as a result of incest: the boys' father and mother are close relatives - a cousin and a sister. Two of their firstborns died in infancy, another lives a very ordinary life, two are mysterious "sunny boys", and the sixth child, a one-year-old toddler, according to The Express Tribune, is already showing the same symptoms.

Doctors continue to research. It is not known whether they will be able to solve the riddle, but they have already provided medical assistance to the children: a number of drugs allow the brothers to remain active in the evening and go to bed at will, and not automatically with the failure of the body's motor functions, as was the case recently.
