Autonomous robot Promobot v.3 saved a child in the Perm Polytechnic. The girl nearly collapsed a rack of heavy equipment. The robot came to the rescue in time and held the rack.

The incident took place on July 4 at the Perm Polytechnic University during the graduation ceremony. Promobot was invited to speak and waited for the start of the event in a corridor with technical equipment. At that moment, a girl ran into the room and decided to climb onto a rack with equipment. The rack began to fall, but Promobot managed to stop it. The robot began to move towards the girl as soon as she climbed up, so at the moment of danger he was there, put his hand forward and held the cabinet. As a result, no one was hurt, the girl ran away. Soon her parents were found, who came to the prom.

“The moment the robot saw the girl, it had mirror mode turned on. It allows him to repeat the movements of a person in sight. And so it happened. The child began to move towards the rack, the robot moved in the same direction. The child began to raise his arms to climb onto the rack, the robot also began to raise his arms. We are glad that Promobot was there at that moment, otherwise the consequences could be dire for the child. It is in order to improve people's lives that we create our robots,”said Oleg Kivokurtsev, Development Director of Promobot.

The Perm company Promobot produces autonomous service robots in Russia, Northern and Eastern Europe. Currently, several hundred Promobot robots are already operating in the USA, China, Kazakhstan, Ireland, Great Britain, Spain, Chile and other countries around the world. They work as administrators, promoters, hostesses and museum guides.
