Representatives of Princeton University published an article with the next scenario of the apocalypse. In their opinion, our planet can be swallowed up by a black hole, and there is no escape from this. Internet users, however, are in no hurry to panic, according to Newsweek.

Scientists argue that a black hole can arise from the collision of gravitational waves. Einstein spoke about their existence. The hypothesis of the great physicist was confirmed by a team of researchers from Europe and the United States in 2016.

“Gravitational waves can be compared to ripples that appear on the surface of space and time,” physicists write.

"If these waves are large enough, their collision could create a black hole, a zone in space with such a powerful gravitational field from which not even light can escape," the scientists add.

The date of the onset of the Apocalypse, however, has not yet been announced by Princeton University staff.

Oddly enough, the majority of Internet users reacted with humor to the rather scary news.

“I’ll bet 10 bucks that this black hole will not digest us,” said one blogger.

“Hopefully this will free us from paying the loan,” added another.
