In the middle of the 20th century, the inhabitants of the Union were shocked by a strange message: a girl who opposed the existence of the Higher Forces turned to stone. People from mouth to mouth passed on the details of the strange incident. They say that even the Central Committee of the CPSU was involved in the investigation of this case, but no details were made public. Nowadays, the editorial board of Komsomolskaya Pravda has taken up the investigation of the amazing case of human petrification.

An ordinary Soviet family was going to celebrate the New Year. A daughter named Zoya invited several of her friends and girlfriends to visit. But since the fast lasted before Christmas, Zoe's mother, who was a believing Christian, asked her daughter not to arrange dances, because this is contrary to religious canons. The daughter did not obey the parent and did not cancel the party. On the evening of New Year's Eve, Zoe's mother went to church.

Meanwhile, friends and girlfriends gathered in the house, there was only the mistress's groom named Nikolai. The annoyed girl took the image of Nicholas the Wonderworker and with the words "Well, I will dance with this Nicholas," she started dancing. Girlfriends dissuaded Zoya from such a blasphemous act, but she just dismissed, they say, "If there is a God, then he will punish me!" In less than a few minutes, a noise rose in the room, and a huge whirlwind formed in the center of the circle of dancers. Everyone ran out of the room in horror, only the culprit remained standing in the middle of the room with the Miracle Worker icon in her hands. When everything calmed down and people returned to the house, they found a girl, white with fear, who stood motionless, like a stone statue. The doctors who arrived at the scene were unable to do anything, the girl did not react to anything. Attempts to hospitalize the blasphemer were also not crowned with success, since they simply could not budge.

When Zoe's mother returned and saw what her daughter had become, she began to tearfully pray for mercy on the harlot. Since doctors, clergymen and simply wishing to gawk at a miracle began to come to the house, law enforcement agencies were forced to seal the house and not let strangers into it. Organized a round-the-clock watch. They say that several young militiamen turned gray after hearing the inhuman cry of a girl begging for mercy. Soon the patriarch arrived at the scene, who was asked to pray for Zoe's forgiveness, but he only said: "He who punished, he will have mercy."

A professor from Moscow, who examined the girl, confirmed that her heart is functioning normally, but the fossil cannot be scientifically explained. The priests tried to get the icon of St. Nicholas out of Zoya's hands, but their attempts were unsuccessful.

On the feast of the Nativity of Christ, a ritual of consecration of water was performed over the petrified blasphemer Hieromonk Seraphim. After that, the clergy managed to take the icon from the girl's hands and return it to its place. Before leaving, Seraphim said: “Now we must wait for the sign on the Great Day (that is, on Easter)! If it does not follow, the end of the world is not far off."

Zoya stood in a petrified state for four months. On the night before Easter, she shouted especially loudly, in horror, prayers were said not only by relatives, but also by the policemen guarding the unfortunate. Gradually, the girl's muscles became limp, and she became able to move.

When Zoe spoke, the amazed audience learned that she received strength for existence thanks to the prayers of the people around her. The incident so impressed the inhabitants of the city that many of them converted to the faith, were baptized and changed their lives.
