A mysterious artifact covered with dozens of mysterious spirals, circles, points and lines, known as the Cocco Stone, is located in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. For the past 50 years, this amazing stone has been buried under several feet of earth and vegetation in a desperate attempt to protect priceless writing from vandals. In 2015, it was decided that the ancient slab would be excavated once again to further explore the mysterious symbols in the hope that the artifact would reveal some of its secrets.
It was reported that the huge stone would be uncovered and then archaeologists, using 3D imaging technology, would make a detailed digital copy of the stone, resulting in more information about the stone's history, purpose and people who created it approximately 5,000 years ago.
The 18m by 9m stone was first discovered by the Reverend James Harvey in 1887 on farmland near the Fiffey housing estate on the outskirts of Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. The find became a sensation and a place of pilgrimage. Not surprisingly, the slab was covered with nearly a hundred carved indentations known as spiral marks.

The researchers suggest that the plate is about 5 thousand years old. For convenience, the drawings have been highlighted in white. Neither in the 19th nor in the 20th century, scientists managed to understand what exactly is depicted on the stone. In 1965, the stone was buried to preserve for posterity. Among the curious visitors to the Kochno stone were found not only lovers of gawking, but also "masters of the word" who began to supplement the valuable artifact with their arts. From these vandals, the stone had to be hidden under a layer of earth.
Currently, within the framework of the large-scale research project The Cochno Stone project, launched by archaeologists at the University of Glasgow, the stone will be carefully studied. The authors of the project want to jointly find out the secret that is hidden behind the illustrations.
According to various assumptions, the images on the stone may be a map of some unidentified area or a ritual object. There are also suggestions that aliens left the writing, depicting distant stellar worlds for earthlings.
In addition to the symbols, the slab contains an image of feet with four toes. As you know, four-fingered humanoids are not found on our planet.
