This is the conclusion reached by psychics who arrived in Sarepta to establish contact with the afterlife. Footsteps, whispers, strange knocking at night - the employees of "Staraya Sarepta" have long been accustomed to this. Residents of houses adjacent to the territory of the museum-reserve often encountered inexplicable phenomena: on Freedom Square, people saw the disembodied figure of a girl and a ghostly dog with bright green eyes.
“In our museum, doors open and close by themselves, things move in closed windows, and we have stopped paying attention to constantly triggered motion sensors,” the museum workers say.
The ghost stories of Old Sarepta piqued the interest of the research group The Paranormal Patrol. The other day the "ghost hunters", together with the psychic healer Peter Pankov and the practicing magician Oleg Resnitsky, arrived in Volgograd. On the night of December 3 to 4, armed with special equipment, they established contact with the afterlife.
- We recorded sounds and clicks, but this may be due to dilapidated buildings and drafts. Also, we did not record any deviations in the data on gamma radiation, magnetic field, random numbers and the Ouija board. In any case, it is too early to draw conclusions, since usually more information is provided by analysis of long exposure photos, video and audio recordings.

Unlike The Paranormal Patrol, the psychics did not need equipment. Our night journey began on the square in the center of the museum-reserve at the mass grave of the soldiers of the 57th and 64th armies. And from the very first minutes, Peter and Oleg felt the presence of the other world.

But, as it turned out, a truly close contact with the world of the dead awaited us in the premises of the museum complex. Having crossed the threshold of the administrative building, we realized that not everyone can be able to stay in such an ominous place. Fright was read in the eyes of the guards when they recalled cases of the presence of otherworldly forces. This is not surprising, because breathing behind your back, dull steps in an empty dark corridor, luminous images in the corners can drive anyone crazy. As a result, the employees working in this building develop health problems.
The reasons for what was happening were explained by psychic healer Peter Pankov:
- In the office building there is the spirit of a man who died of a heart attack. When you go down to the basement, chest tightness arises, many employees die prematurely from heart disease. Their average life expectancy is 60–62 years.
Peter also noted that there is a hostile attitude in the team. Svetlana Shoshina, head of the Glich Club department, confirmed his words:
- Indeed, the employees of the administrative building often do not get along with each other. But our situation is better. Five years ago, the participants of the "Battle of Psychics" Nonna Khidiryan and Alena Orlova came to us. At our request, they moved to a more suitable place the spirit of a woman that had been present here for many years. Not even a week had passed since our visitors took a picture in which the image of a cat was clearly visible. The next day I came to work and saw how the very cat from the photo came out of the place where the psychics had transferred the spirit! Since that day, she has been living with us for almost five years.
How to calm ghosts?

Once Tibetan monks came to us and lived in a hotel for 10 days, every day they recited mantras and cleaned the premises. And they just told us that the light spirits should always be full.
Even skeptics believe
Indeed, the atmosphere in the Glitch Club is warm and calm, and when we left it we were not ready for the most ominous building of the complex, the Inn. Both he and the entire film crew were convinced of the anomalousness of the building's basement. This was not the first time the microphones had shut off on their own.
Thanks to that night, we concluded that the most unbelievers, when faced with the world of the dead, cease to be skeptics.
THE LEGEND OF THE SPIRIT OF POTTER
In the basement of the Goldbach trading house, the ghost of an old man named Johan sometimes appears. Sage Alena Orlova from the "Battle of Psychics" immediately got in touch with him. Alena chose a place right in the exhibition hall, where for several months the staff of the museum-reserve have been putting a mug of beer covered with dark bread. Who was this Johan? The Sareptans have a legend about the ghost of an old potter named Johann Niedenthal. Arriving from Germany to Sarepta, he founded a pottery workshop here. After his death, night after night in the deserted room of the workshop, the noise of a rotating potter's wheel was clearly heard. The frightened watchmen told Johann's son about this. He entered the workshop in the middle of the night and saw … his late father, sitting at a potter's wheel. Old Niedenthal looked up, saw his son and disappeared, disappearing into thin air …
