China is testing a weather modification system that can artificially increase precipitation in the Tibetan Plateau. This was reported by the South China Morning Post.

It clarifies that the Tibetan Plateau is considered the largest plateau in the world. It is thanks to the new system that the problem of water shortage in the region should be solved.

In addition, seven combustion chambers were installed at the top of the Tibetan Mountains. It is expected that thanks to them it will be possible to artificially increase the amount of precipitation to about 10 billion cubic meters per year, which is about 7% of China's water consumption.

It is also expected that tens of thousands of such combustion chambers will be installed in the Tibetan Plateau in the future, allowing precipitation to be created over an area of almost 1.6 million square kilometers.

It clarifies that this project is the largest in the world. The experts point out that the results so far are promising.

Climate change and global warming have pushed the boundaries of the Sahara by about 10% over the past 100 years. This negatively affected the life of the countries of North Africa.
