A student found an unknown insect cocoon object in the Peruvian Amazon. Scientists still cannot establish what it is.

The formation is light in color and looks like a tiny spire, which is surrounded by a filamentous fence about two centimeters thick. For the first time, Troy Alexander discovered the object near the Tambopata Research Observatory. Initially, the young man thought he had stumbled upon a frozen moth cocoon.

He took pictures of this formation and posted it on an Internet portal dedicated to scientific discoveries, and asked for help from scientists from Tampobata. McGill University archaeologist Chris Badle, on behalf of all his colleagues, said that he did not know the origin of this object. It is assumed that the formation is the result of improper formation of a moth cocoon or a rare fungus.

Troy later asked for a vacation from his curator to better explore the Peruvian Amazon, but in the company of other volunteers. Later, the young man returned to Peru to participate in the Tambopata project, which aims to save the population of some species of parrots. The discovery of a new species of insect will not surprise the scientific world, because a huge number of unexplored spider species prevail in the Amazonian forests.
