A camera near the embankment captured the moment when the luminous object swept over the sky in the harbor and disappeared on the opposite bank behind the hills.

Andrew Wilkins was having dinner at a pub in downtown St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, looking out over the city's famous harbor when a flash of green light caught his eye.

According to an eyewitness, the entire sky just lit up when an unidentified object approached at an angle of 45 degrees.

Wilkins focused his full attention on the moving light source, which allowed him to notice how it collapsed on the opposite side of the harbor, towards the uninhabited area of South Hills.

Whatever this unidentified object turns out to be, Andrew Wilkins is delighted to see such an impressive phenomenon.

The observer listened, hoping to hear some sounds that might accompany the fall, but the noise in the crowded pub prevented him from doing so.

Andrew clarified that it looked like a large green fireball or fireworks, but the latter does not go down.

Another eyewitness to what happened, Christa Godfrey, shared her observations. For the moment of observation she sat in her living room and looked out the window at the city. At first she thought that she saw fireworks, but then, like Andrew, she noticed that the light source goes down, and does not fly up, as is usually the case with pyrotechnic launches.

Then the woman remembered that the Orionids meteor shower was expected and came to the conclusion that it was one of the meteorites.

A Newfoundland policeman said that he and his colleagues arrived at the site of the alleged fall of the mysterious fire, but did not find anything similar to a meteorite trail.
