One of the races mentioned in sacred texts, especially biblical texts, are the Didanums (or Ditans or Didans), the forerunners of the Nephilim and Rephaim, dating back to the 3rd millennium BC. There are not many mentions of this race, but we will try to touch on what is known about them.

Many already know about the Nephilim, the descendants of the "sons of the gods" and "daughters of men," creatures of gigantic proportions with incredible abilities and strength, who are associated with demigods of all different religions and mythologies. The Rephaim, who were also people of enormous stature with extraordinary abilities, a generation of heroes, belong to the same category. In addition, references to Rephaims in the Bible identify them as shadows or spirits from another dimension, capable of interacting or manifesting simultaneously in different realities.

The ancient texts trace the connection between the Didans and the Rephaim, which makes them another race associated with the "gods" of the past. In the epic of Keret, a Canaanite epic of the Bronze Age, which is written in the Ugaritic language found on 3 clay tablets, the god El (the father of the gods according to the Canaanites, also identified with the Egyptian god Ptah) promises King Keret that the glory of his family will be restored. It also mentions the Didanite council. King Keret was a descendant of the Didans and ruler of the region around Mount Amorites, or Mount Tidanum. The importance of the Didans was significant, since the accession of the future kings to the throne did not do without the Council of the Didanites.

In the links to this text, one can also trace the connection between the Amorites and the Didan. The Amorites (or Tidanums, Akkad.) Were a group of people from ancient Syria who lived around 2000-3000 BC. They call the Syrian region Jebel Bishri the Amorite Mountain. Whether the Amorites simply used the term Didanum or whether they were actually Didan is not known. In addition, in one Sumerian poem entitled "Inanna's Descent into the Underworld", Didanums are called enemies of Inanna (the Sumerian goddess of sexual love, fertility and war).

In other texts, the Didans appear in connection with Dedan, who was considered an important deity among the Nubians in Egypt. It is interesting to note that Dedan was a descendant of Noah. God warned the people of Dedan that his wrath would fall on them because Dedan doubted the motives of God, just as all the descendants of the Nephilim were executed by Joshua with the help of “God,” leaving no trace of them.

Even the little that has been found about the Didans allows us to say with a high degree of probability that they were giants, probably descendants of "gods" with great physical and mental strength, connected in some way with the reigning dynasties of the past. They were so important that their name was later used as a title for important royalty. How they appeared and what happened to them is unknown. But what is important is that we mean another strange race of giants among humanity that suddenly disappeared.
