Astral projection - travel outside the physical body

For a phenomenon known as "astral projection" (outside the body), travel to other dimensions is fairly common.

Astral projection involves the separation of consciousness from the physical body without death. This is possible when a person is under general anesthesia or under the influence of certain drugs that affect consciousness, as well as with a serious illness or being on the verge of death. Sometimes the spirit suddenly leaves the body of normal, healthy people. There is a technique with which you can learn astral projection, for example, a system of special exercises. Astral projection can also occur in the higher stages of Eastern meditation. At the same time, it should be noted that it is not the goal of meditation, it is its usual side effect.

The mention of astral projection can be found in many cultures, some of which are related to very ancient times. She is mentioned in the earliest Indian scriptures, the papyri of Egypt and the rice manuscripts of China, where they talk about the arts of magic and witchcraft.

One of the primitive forms of astral projection involves the sensation of watching your own body from above, lying motionless below. Cases of this kind are described quite often. For example, Dr. Albert Hoffman, the first scientist to synthesize the potent drug LSD, described his observations from above of his own body after accidentally taking a dose of the drug.

With astral projection, consciousness is able to travel to virtually any physical location in the world. It is possible to pay a visit to a neighbor or friend, or to see what is on the other side of the world. Some have described the view of the Earth from a great height. One Indian medicine man even assured that in his astral form he had been to the moon several times and knew its landscape well.

In addition to traveling through our physical world, consciousness can also enter any of the many unknown astral worlds, which, as a rule, are generally not perceived in any way. In the Eastern teachings, mention is made of the lower astral worlds, inhabited by evil beings, and the higher, inhabited by spiritually "advanced" creatures.

Robert A. Monroe, who wrote the book "Travels out of the body", describes his stay in the astral world, which, in his words, is "the world of physical matter, almost identical to ours." He came to the conclusion that this world "can be neither the past nor the present of our world." The society he met there did not use electricity and electrical appliances, internal combustion engines, gasoline or oil, but he saw locomotives and very strange huge cars there. Probably, the time in the astral world in no way corresponds to our time. It is in a different area with its own past, present and future.

In addition to the astral world of physical matter described by Monroe, there are numerous astral worlds that exist in non-physical, non-material forms; they are inhabited by disembodied beings. Therefore, in such a world there is no sequence of physical events, no youth or old age, no passage of time.

Astral projection, or travel outside the physical body, often leads to collisions with other worlds that are completely different from the earthly reality of our daily life. Time in them can flow in a completely different way, or it may not exist at all.

Everyone probably knows that astral projection is fraught with some hidden dangers. She is capable of leading to death if for some reason there is no way to return to her own body. It is believed that the spirits may deliberately try to break the so-called "silver thread" in the hope of taking possession of the victim's body.

The dangers of experimenting with exiting the physical body are no secret, but if you act with caution, the hidden benefits always outweigh the potential risks. It should also be remembered that some people cannot control the situation of leaving the physical body, they do not even try to deliberately leave their own body, this happens against their will.

Today, it is meaningless to consider astral projections that affect unknown areas and dimensions. More curious are cases of travel to distant places or other periods of time, the authenticity of which can be proven. Just such a case is given below as an example.

LB from California began experiencing astral projections even before he understood what they meant. She said: “I started projections of consciousness and astral projections (against my will) 20 years ago, when I was a young girl. They frightened me so much that I could not tell anyone about it - I thought that people would take me for an abnormal … During the first astral projection, I found myself under the ceiling of my bedroom. I looked at my own immovable body. In my first astral projections, I never went outside my room."

Here is how she described the later manifestation of astral projection:

“One night in 1948, I got out of my sleeping body and swam into the hallway, where I saw a thief in a cap trying to break the door. It scared me so much that I returned to my body. Now I heard rustles at the back door, went to the hallway and quietly called my neighbor … and told him that someone wanted to break into my apartment.

The neighbor went out, but saw no one. That night, my cat gave birth to kittens, and my neighbor assured me that I woke up because she was scratching at the door, trying to get inside, before bringing offspring.

Then I showed him the split tree around the door lock. This was strong evidence that someone wanted to break in!"

With other astral projections, LB observed phenomena that were only destined to occur. They were related not to another place, but to a future period of time! Some of them were terrible tragedies, sensational abductions, other people who experienced violence. Each time LB wrote down everything that she saw: the state of the victim and a detailed description of the place where the person (or body) was. Then she sent this data to the central registry on warnings to the New York agency, which collects this kind of information and uses a computer to try to correlate this data with subsequent incidents.

Newspaper articles later confirmed what LB had seen and convinced her (and the cautionary registry) that her descriptions were incredibly accurate. In one case, the victim was a boy who was severely beaten and put into a pipe. In another, the victim was an 18-year-old girl who was stuffed into a sleeping bag, tied with ropes and left in the woods. Each time, the astral projection occurred at least one month before the murder was committed. Each time LB, without suspecting anything, crossed the time barrier and became an eyewitness to scenes from the future!

LB has left her body many times and traveled to other periods of time, which is very entertaining, but which cannot be proven. Here's how she described one such case:

“One night in 1967 I was transported to the courtyard of Louis XIV and saw the ball in full swing - a wonderful sight. Everything was as if in miniature, as if I was watching a puppet show … The figures were absolutely not like dolls, they had human, lively features, and they moved gracefully. All wore white wigs and multicolored luxurious suits of those times."

Several books on astral projection describe ways to get out of your body. Paul Twitchell, a writer who has devoted a lot of attention to this topic, is essentially proposing a course that he teaches based on an ancient method known as ekankar. Eckankar, in his words, is a way of understanding God through the movement of the soul. Twitchell distinguishes between astral projection and the movement of the soul, explaining that the former, although somewhat reminiscent of the movement of the soul, is a much more limited way of leaving the body. Groups of students were formed in different parts of the world to study ekankar.

Amazing research of this kind was carried out by the American professor Charles Hapgood and several other scientists using hypnosis. After the patient reached a deep hypnotic state, he was told that he was in a certain period of time in the future, and asked to tell what he sees. For example, the patient was told: “Now is next Wednesday. You are holding the morning newspaper. What are the headlines there? The method was very successful. Many patients can report facts that looked exactly as they described them while in a hypnotic state.

Strange as it may seem, the information obtained in this way is much easier to confirm than the facts obtained using the more famous technique of age regression, in which the patient goes back to childhood, infancy and, finally, to previous lives before his present incarnation. Such facts are difficult, if not impossible, to truly investigate.

Journeys into the future by hypnotic suggestion (at least in theory) can be undertaken by any hypnoticable individual, of course, under the guidance of a professional, experienced hypnotist.
