A statue with a woman's face was found in one of the photographs taken from the Curiosity rover and posted on the website of the Martian Science Laboratory (see video below).
Since the photo was taken from a distance, the face is not very visible when the image is zoomed in. It is not only fuzzy, but also in the shadows. This makes it difficult to see all the details.
The interesting artifact is very small in size, only a few inches high. Having slightly processed the image, the author of the video is sure that this is a face that looks like a human. Two eyes, nose, mouth, sharp chin and long hair are clearly visible. Just below the face, a protrusion is noticeable, which may be the right hand of the statue, which over time was covered with sand.
It is possible that this is a statue of a young man or a girl, but the author is inclined to believe that the face, which is framed by long hair, looks more like a woman.
Almost all previously discovered Martian statues or rock reliefs resemble the faces of men. In fact, this is the first female statue, and this is rather strange, according to the author of the video. Although, he adds, it is possible that such was the patriarchal culture on Mars, focused more on men.
The figure, which may have been unscathed by the rock debris above it, could have been made of Martian clay. And it was reminiscent of the army of terracotta warriors found in China.
The author of the video says that the mountain range on which this statue is located is a very interesting place, and he discovered a lot of the most unusual statues and anomalies here.
