Megaliths, these prehistoric structures of large stone blocks connected without the use of cement or mortar, are found almost everywhere. Most scientists are sure that these are traces of the activities of an ancient highly developed civilization, although they do not have scientifically substantiated evidence. There are similar structures in Japan. Huge megaliths are located in the cozy place of Asuka in the Kansai region, which is about 60 kilometers from the city of Kyoto.

According to ancient legend, when the ancient gods took out the lowered coral blade of the sword from the ocean, four drops fell from it, which formed the Japanese islands. Some believe that traces of "divine drops" can be seen today. In the very heart of the islands are hidden strange "talking" stones. However, finding them is very difficult even with a map. Some of the megaliths are located at great distances from each other, as if an invisible hand deliberately placed them as far as possible - in the mountains, forests and fields. The Japanese themselves are not eager to show visitors local attractions.

One of the largest today is the Masuda Iwafun megalith. Needless to say, when looking at this mysterious object, one does not even think about its natural origin. The huge boulder reaches a height of more than 6 meters. Its base is at least seven meters wide. To the top, the megalith narrows to three meters and forms a fairly flat trapezoidal pyramid, outwardly similar to the famous pyramids of Teotihuacan. The top of the megalith is flat and has several niches precisely cast or cut. Of course, there can be no question of any rough manual labor - the megalith is made of granite, therefore, even to chip off a small piece of this boulder, you have to tinker. Well, it is simply impossible to gouge perfectly smooth niches by hand with a chisel and a hammer.

No less interesting is the megalith, which, according to the locals, in ancient times served as an apparatus for making … sake! The stone really has rather characteristic even depressions, however, it has not yet been possible to determine its purpose. Indeed, today such structures simply do not exist.

Ancient legends are also enveloped in the megalith, nicknamed by the people as the "Devil's Pot". It has two parts. One rises on a hillock, the other lies very close. The Japanese claim that the devil will execute sinners on this "cutting board". That is why many people bypass the mysterious boulders - just in case.

Mysterious megalithic structures have been found in another Asian country - China. In Jiangsu province, 22 kilometers from the city center of Nianjing, the so-called Yongshan stone slab rises. According to the official version, in the third year of his reign, the Ming Emperor Joo Di began to build a large memorial complex dedicated to his father. Stones for this were brought mainly from the territory of Yongshan Mountain. According to historians, 10,000 workers were assigned for mining. Of the tools they had only stone chisels. However, in 13 months the workers managed to carve out the future stele from the stone.

But soon, again, according to the official version, the work was stopped. Surprisingly, there are no more traces of the work done, except for the excavation in the granite slab. It also defies explanation that the stele does not correspond to the 15th century by its nature, type and form of processing, but is similar to more ancient structures, in particular, to the Egyptian pyramids.

It is also interesting that both Japan and China, as well as some other countries of Northeast and Southeast Asia, are characterized by megaliths, which today are usually referred to as the "table" style. In total, there are at least half a thousand such structures on the territory of these countries. They are structures of three huge flat boulders, two of which form the walls and the third form the roof. Often, megaliths of this period are characteristic of the Korean Peninsula, the valleys of China - Liaoning, Shandong and Zhejiang, Japan, the Duno-Niao region of Vietnam and India.

Modern scientists are sure that most of the megalithic complexes in ancient times were used for ritual ceremonies. Scientists were prompted to this idea by the fact that near the buildings you can often find the remains of broken pottery, the remains of a burnt forest.

However, it is too early to draw final conclusions. After all, it is known that almost all megalithic structures in the world were erected at the same time. And one can only guess about their exact purpose.
