Many archaeologists believe that the face of the Sphinx is a reflection of the ancient pharaoh Khafre. But since the body of the king was not found, statues were used for comparison. According to the conclusion of the famous American policeman Domingo, who was a master of creating composite images of criminals, the conclusions about the similarity of Khafre and the Sphinx were refuted.
There are many conjectures of Egyptologists, not supported by facts, but also not refuted. One of them believes that the great Sphinx has a female couple buried under the sands. And in one legend about the Egyptian goddess Isis it is said that somewhere in a secret place the god Thoth hid the sacred books. At the end of the last century, Japanese researchers using radar found a corridor under the left paw of the sculpture leading to the pyramid of Khafre.
