One Swedish scientist named Ulf Erlingsson came up with the theory that modern Ireland is the very legendary sunken Atlantis.

The ancient Greek philosopher Plato wrote back in 360 BC that Atlantis is a giant island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. It was on this island, more than 10 thousand years before the birth of this very Plato, that the largest human civilization at that time lived, which was famous for its wisdom and development.

A sudden catastrophe interrupted the lives of the islanders, plunging Atlantis into the water.

Since then, there have been fierce debates about where the ancient island is. Our contemporary Erlingsson, having studied the exact numbers and data indicated by Plato, came to the conclusion that these are the data of the island of Ireland.

The scientist is sincerely surprised why no one has thought about such a possibility before. According to Plato, Atlantis is 320 km wide, 480 km long, and is a vast plateau bordered by mountains. According to the Swede, this is exactly what Ireland looks like.

The scientist explains the legend about the "watery" disappearance of Atlantis by a banal flood, which, however, turned out to be quite powerful. Around 6100 BC. Dogger Bank, located northeast of Britain, was submerged. From this the legend was born.
