American scientist Seth Shostak, an employee of the Research Agency for the Search for Extraterrestrial Civilizations (SETI), who spoke at a symposium at Stanford University, said that by 2040, earthlings will establish contact with aliens.
According to Seth, it is during this period of time that researchers will be able not only to confirm the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations, but even to establish the first contact with them.
As part of his speech, the scientist also said that in the near future he plans to carry out a series of studies, during which he will monitor several million star systems, which will make it possible to get in touch with representatives of other worlds.
It should be noted that, according to Shostak, there is at least one planet around every fifth star, on which there are conditions suitable for life. Thus, it is possible that within the Galaxy there are several tens of billions of planets similar to ours. His findings are based in part on data collected by NASA's Kepler astronomical satellite.
