The American "smart home" nearly took the lives of its owners, Walter and Jessica Daleis, who decided to diversify their family life with erotic role-playing games.
The incident took place late in the evening in New York when Jessica decided to pamper her husband by purchasing everything she needed, including a mask, handcuffs, a whip, etc.
However, as soon as Jessica put on the black mask, the security system of the "smart home", based on the data from CCTV cameras, took her for a criminal and immediately took action: a sleeping gas was supplied to the room, visual and audible alarms were turned on, and the police were called.
By the time the police arrived, Walter and Jessica Daleys were unconscious. It was possible to bring the spouses to their senses only in the hospital, but it turned out that the body of the victims could not cope with the consequences of strangulation at all, and the case could end in death.
At the moment, an investigation is underway. The condition of the couple is satisfactory. According to one of the versions, the incident occurred due to the irresponsible approach of the company, which was engaged in the design of the "smart home" security system, without fully conducting preliminary tests, and also not taking into account the health status of both family members.
Recall that the concept of "smart home", which has been implemented since the 1970s, implies the creation of an environmentally friendly, comfortable and secure dwelling capable of independently managing power, heating, water supply, security and entertainment systems combined into a single manageable complex. Such a house should recognize specific situations occurring in the premises, and respond appropriately to them: turn on / off the light, open windows, wash the floor, cook food, make coffee at a certain hour, prepare a bath of the required temperature for the arrival of the owner, etc. This eliminates the need to use several remotes when watching TV, dozens of switches when controlling lighting, separate units when controlling ventilation and heating systems, video surveillance and alarm systems, gates, etc.
