Anyone interested in supernatural phenomena can take advantage of the unique opportunity to spend the night in Britain's oldest prison. Such an unusual offer is available in the town of Shepton Mallet in the southwest of the country.
The local prison, built in 1646, has a very dark history. It was here that thousands of prisoners were executed, the last of whom was hanged in 1945. During the Second World War, prisoners of war were held in Shepton Mallet prison, and none of them left the building alive. The most famous representatives of the criminal gangs of Great Britain also served their imprisonment here. However, in 2013, the prison was officially closed.
On Friday October 13th, the most daring haunted house lovers will be able to spend the whole day in prison. They will be provided with standard food for prisoners, overnight in a closed cell and the opportunity to independently explore the dark corridors and halls filled, according to legend, with the wandering souls of thousands of people killed in these walls.
