The Belorusneft company built its business center in the center of Gomel in record time. After a while, after the building was put into operation, mystical rumors began to circulate among the company's employees.

“At first we decided that this new technique was failing. But after knocks and groans began to be heard from the dark corridors, we realized that something mystical was happening in the building,”says the former security guard of the business center.

Many believe that the reason is that the building is built on bones. During the war, a concentration camp for prisoners of war was located at this place; about 90 thousand people were killed here.

Other employees of the company say that they have not seen or heard anything strange, but they constantly feel the presence of negative energy in this place.

The company's management has officially refused to talk about ghosts.

“Aren't you ashamed to ask about ghosts in a scientific institution? No one saw any ghosts, they just tell each other some nonsense and gossip. There was no concentration camp here - it stood further,”says the secretary of the general director.

What do historians say?

Promotional video:

“Digging a foundation pit, the excavators lifted mountains of human bones. I wrote an appeal to the city hall demanding that the remains be exhumed and reburied in accordance with all the rules. I was told that they had no information about the burials in this place. There are a lot of documents that confirm that a camp was located on the territory of modern Knizhnaya Street, and Soviet soldiers were killed here,”says the famous Belarusian historian and ethnographer Yuri Glushakov.

What do psychologists say?

“The history of this place is frightening, it cannot but worry. And the human psyche is designed in such a way that anxiety gives rise to fear. There is an effect of mental infection: an emotionally told story to one person, and then to the other begins to live its own life. And people have a certain attitude, they say, there is something mystical here,”says psychologist Christina Balako.

Former security guard Alexander tells

I started working as a security guard in this building even before its commissioning. I myself am from the Vitebsk region, and I never knew that there was a prisoner of war camp in this place. Three days later I worked with my partner, a young boy, Andrei. In my office, there were monitors on which I saw everything that was happening in the building, which was packed to capacity with surveillance cameras.

Late one night, I noticed on the monitor a human figure on the seventh floor dangling aimlessly down the hallway. I asked Andrey to go there and check everything. As soon as Andrey went up to the seventh floor, the stranger disappeared from the monitor. Just vanished into thin air.

Over time, the mysterious figure began to appear more often, and each time on different floors. Not only I saw her, but also other guards who worked in other shifts. There was one more thing - I always came home from work tired, as if I sat all night not in a comfortable chair at the monitors, but unloading the cars. It seemed that something was sucking my strength. I resigned even before the building was put into operation, and Andrey and several people from other shifts also left this job.
