In our world, there are many demons who live among us, who live us, and sometimes destroy us. When I was a very little girl, before going to bed, my grandmother scared me with horror stories that if I did not sleep and did not close my eyes, then an evil spirit would come behind my eyes.

The grandmother said that there was a demon who watched his victims and took their eyes, because he himself was blind. He seemed to burn out his eyes. But other people's eyes for a long time could not take root with his body, and he again and again looked for his eyes. This is where the stories about the eyes of the beholder started. That, supposedly, it happened on a dark night, and people who became victims of this demon said that before that they seemed to see shining eyes in the dark, and then they stopped seeing at all and there is no one who would save themselves from this demon. That is why when night falls and it is time to sleep, you need to close your eyes. Then the demon, looking behind the eyes and looking for them for himself, will not see the sparkle of your eyes, and will not take them.
