My cousin, Alexei, lives in the most ordinary two-room apartment himself. He is 29 years old, he is in no hurry to get married and who, if not me, will cook a delicious dinner for a bachelor. Once a week I went and still go to visit Alexey and pamper him with various goodies. Each time I took my five-year-old daughter Katenka with me. The girl had her own interest in visiting Uncle Lesha - a Labrador. A cheerful Labrador named Alf played with Katya with great pleasure.

When we came to Alexei, the clatter of dog's paws and Katya's feet was a roar. After running around, Alf crawled under the bed, and my daughter - on the bed, and they began to talk: the gamer barked, and Katya - in response.
But Lesha did not particularly like to look after his pet. He seemed to love Alpha, but on the other hand, I did not approve of his courtship methods. First, Alexei disappeared at work all day, and the dog himself was bored at home. Secondly, he left frozen pieces of meat for the animal in the morning and went to work. Many times I quarreled with him, explaining that the dog should not leave icy pieces of meat from the freezer as food, to which my cousin replied: "It will melt, it will eat …"
Every Friday, right after work, Alexey and his friends went to a bar, and then to a nightclub, apparently he was looking for his wife there. That is, once a week, the dog himself sat at home for almost a day.
The matter is clear, after a while Alf fell ill, he became constantly nauseous, then he stopped eating … and soon died. Alexei took the dead dog to an autopsy to a veterinary clinic, where they gave the conclusion that death was from stomach cancer. He didn't tell me anything about it.
Katya and I came to visit Lesha again. When he opened the front door, as always, a loud clatter of paws sounded from the front door, dragging him into the kitchen with him. Katya ran after her, but there was no one in the kitchen, now the stomp of running paws could be heard on the balcony, but her daughter did not find anyone there either … After everyone was surprised, Alexey spoke about the death of Alpha. Then, several more times, both Lesha and my daughter and I heard a non-existent Labrador rushing around the apartment, taking him to his favorite game. Sometimes we even forgot that the dog had died.
The whole story with the dead dog lasted about a month, until I gave my brother a little puppy. With his appearance, the ghost of Alpha stopped bothering us.
