Ghosts do not always appear in the form of people. They can be captured as a moving beam of light on videotape or a bright flash in a photograph.
Priest Charles Jupp related the following story, which happened to him in 1878, when he was serving as church chief at an orphanage in Scotland.
This case is very interesting, since it was observed by two witnesses, both of whom noted that the presence of the ghost caused them a feeling of calm and grace.
“I will try to tell you everything in detail. I fell asleep at about 11 o'clock and slept peacefully for a while. Suddenly I woke up for no apparent reason, and although I was sleeping with my face turned to the wall, I suddenly wanted to turn around. Before rolling over on the other side, I looked up and noticed that the room was slightly lit. The bedroom door was open, so I thought it might be a reflection from the gas lamps that were on in the hallway.
I rolled over, and a wonderful vision suddenly appeared in my eyes. Near one of the cribs, a small cloud of light hovered in the air, like the glow of the moon on a normal moonlit night. I sat down abruptly in bed, looking at this strange phenomenon, looked at the clock. The hands pointed at five o'clock. Everything was calm and the children were fast asleep. The youngest of them was in a crib with a cloud of light hovering over it.
I asked myself, "Am I dreaming this?" No! I am fully awake. All of a sudden, I wanted to get up and touch this light, whatever it was. The cloud of light was five feet high. I was about to get up when something seemed to stop me. I am sure that I did not hear the voice, although I caught and perfectly understood the words: "No, don't move, it will not harm you." I did just that. Soon I fell asleep and woke up, as usual, at half past five.
At 6 in the morning I started dressing the children, starting from the far end. Soon I went to the bed, over which I saw a light at night. I lifted the little boy, sat him on my lap, and put some clothes on him.
The child was talking with other children, but suddenly he fell silent. And then he looked at me intently and said, “Oh, Mr. Jupp, and my mother came to me last night. Have you seen her?"

For a while, I could not answer the child. Then I thought it would be better to ignore this topic and told him: "We need to hurry up, otherwise we will be late for breakfast."
However, this incident was engraved in the memory of Mr. Jupp, and perhaps it was the feeling of guilt before the boy that later forced him to publish an article in which he described the events of that night. When the boy read about it in the magazine, his expression changed, and looking at the Reverend, he said, "Mr. Jupp, it was me."
Overjoyed that it was not a dream, the boy fell into a deep thoughtfulness, "obviously, these were pleasant memories, because he smiled so sweetly at his thoughts," Jupp recalled, "that he seemed to have completely forgotten about my presence."
