Artificially created ghosts
Natural spirits, or spirits of the elements, in parapsychology are called elementals. An artificial elemental is a spirit that is created by the effort of human will.
The appearance of the spirit of Katie King
Quite popular in the 19th century, seances consisted of calling the spirit, which not only could answer questions with knocks or voice, but also appeared with its own eyes. The basis and obligatory moment of such evocations was the presence at the session of a person with parapsychic abilities - a medium, or, as they say in another way, a psychic. Falling into a dreamlike state, the medium could summon the ghost of a once living person, as well as simulate a body and figure that had never existed before. It is noted that a medium with a weak psychic power turns out to be grotesque, caricatured, only vaguely reminiscent of a person, while in a strong medium, phantoms did not differ from a living person: they had warm skin, the pulse was felt and breathing was determined.
So, for example, the Englishwoman Cook Florence managed to create a complete figure of the spirit named Katie King. In accordance with established practice, Florence sat in a darkened niche, which was separated by curtains from the rest of the room, and after a while a materialized spirit figure emerged from there. From the very beginning, "Katie" announced to others that she would appear regularly for three years, and then disappear. During the last appearance of the spirit, those present witnessed a touching scene when the phantom and the medium with tears in their eyes embraced and said goodbye to each other.
Tibetan tulpa

Tulpa is a visible and even tangible phantom, which is created by the imagination and effort of the will of the meditating person. The method was described by researcher Alexandra David-Neel during her stay in Tibet. These phantoms were traditionally used in Buddhist monasteries for various physical work, where they worked along with living people.
Madame David-Neel, having watched tulpa materialize more than once, wanted to repeat the experience. After several months of many hours of training, a squat, fat and good-natured-looking Buddhist monk appeared in front of her. The phantom was clearly visible not only to A. David-Neel herself, but also to all those around him, who recognized that this monk was a tulpa, that is, a materialized ghost.
At first the monk appeared and disappeared without a trace in the air. But over time, with the continuation of meditation and thoughts about him, the monk began to appear more and more often, and after that he remained completely in our world. "From that moment," wrote A. David-Neel in her book "Mystics and Magicians of Tibet", "I no longer had to think about him to make him appear."
But after a while, the situation began to change. The monk became more and more fussy, nervous, and also began to be insolent to his creator. Eventually it began to tire her. A. David-Neel decided to get rid of him, which turned out to be much more difficult than materializing a tulpa. It took about another year to return the decaying image of a monk to the subtle world, from where he first appeared.
Creation of the "silver beauty"
Another example is the materialization of the so-called "silvery beauty" by the talented medium Ethel Post Parish in the town of Euphrates (America), performed several times in front of a large crowd of spectators in the summer of 1953. Some of those present at the session decided to walk arm in arm with a charming visitor from another world.
Group "Philip"
In the 1970s, a group of parapsychologists from the city of Toronto, Canada, decided to create an artificial elemental. They invented the melodramatic story of a nobleman from 17th century Great Britain named Philip, who allegedly fell in love with the gypsy Margot. Because Philip was already married, and besides, there was a huge difference in estates, it was impossible to conclude a marriage union. The jealous wife of Philip wanted to settle scores with her rival, declaring her a witch, and the gypsy was burned at the stake. Philip could not stand the separation from his beloved and committed suicide by jumping from the highest tower of his castle.
For a year, the members of the group they named "Philip" practiced collective meditation, focusing on the story. Finally, the table around which the parapsychologists were sitting began to shake spontaneously. One of those present asked the question: "Philip, are you being naughty?" - and a knock was heard in response. Parapsychologists agreed with "Philip" that "yes" means one blow, and "no" means two blows.
They also found that in order to summon the spirit, it is necessary that at least four people take part in the experiment. At their request, "Philip" not only made knocks of different frequencies and tones, which emanated from the walls, floor and ceiling, but also caused the table to levitate, at which the participants of the experiment were, and much more. All of this was filmed, and the film was repeatedly shown on Canadian television.
Experiments on creating an astral double
Many Russian parapsychologists also believe that the partial materialization of a spiritual ghost is quite possible, moreover, these creatures demonstrate their individuality and carry out purposeful activities. They believe that this explains many mysterious phenomena, including encounters with ghosts, visions of the Virgin Mary and various saints, as well as the appearance of phantoms when engaging in spiritualism. Probably the same can explain the diagnosis and treatment in the imaginary image of the patient, which is used in current psychic healing practice.
So, for example, the famous hypnotist and researcher V. L. Raikov conducted a series of experiments to create a phantom in laboratory conditions. The psychic volunteer mentally created his own "astral double", visible to the mind only to him. After that, in the same way, he mentally moved the ghost to the next room, where there was another volunteer, immersed in hypnosis, who at the same moment noted the appearance of a new face next to him and quite accurately described the appearance, which coincided with what the psychic looked like. It should be noted that both volunteers never saw each other, while the second participant knew nothing about the content of the experience.
The experiment was further complicated: the participant, immersed in a hypnotic state, was instructed to prick the "double" with a needle. As a result, the psychic in the first room experienced pain, while simultaneously marking the place and time of the injection on his physical body.
