Scientists have been conducting their research for several years and have come to this conclusion. They believe that as a result of mutations, humans can develop a second heart, which will also perform the same functions as the first, but in addition, take on all the work if the first fails.
Scientists say that now people have two kidneys, which could also appear as a result of such a mutation, in the future many organs may double, but doctors are betting on the heart, suggesting that it may appear first. According to the researchers, about 300 million years ago, a system of internal organs was formed, which included one heart and two lungs. However, scientists note that at the stage of embryo formation, two hearts are formed first, but then they combine and become one organ, but in the future they may also develop separately and a new species of people will appear, which will be anatomically different from us.
At the moment, this happens in individual cases, scientists note that sometimes people are born who already have two hearts, but they were all recorded in the distant past, when it was not possible to carefully study them. Scientists cannot yet explain what caused such mutations, but they assume that they are hereditary.
