Thanks to the efforts of some modern historians, everyone knows about the Holodomor in the USSR. Meanwhile, no one has heard of starving Oklahoma or Kansas. This is strange, since at almost the same time, the stronghold of democracy and capitalist prosperity - the United States - was in the grip of a disaster no less massive, albeit fundamentally different in nature.
Americans still consider the Great Depression to be one of the worst periods in their history. By the way, in contrast to the Second World War, which they in all seriousness called "a good war."
Man made crisis
The catastrophe began on October 24, 1929. Later this day was called "Black Thursday". Thousands of stockholders came to the stock exchange at once to sell their securities. The supply not only exceeded demand, there was no demand at all. All were selling. Stock prices crashed. 13 million were sold in a day. Black Thursday was followed by Black Friday, Black Monday, Black Tuesday … The financial system went haywire.
Why did those who had previously considered stocks to be a profitable investment suddenly change their minds? The answer is simple: large banks controlled by John Morgan and his partners immediately demanded a refund from their debtors, and within 24 hours. The financial bubble of unsecured lending has burst. Rather, it was collapsed artificially.
Following the exchange, production collapsed, having lost the possibility of financial support. The drop in production led to massive layoffs and a sharp decline in demand for goods, which led to an even greater decline in production and an even greater increase in unemployment. At first, people had nothing to pay for their housing, and they ended up on the street, then there was nothing to buy food with. The phantom of hunger loomed over America.
The number of unemployed during the Great Depression is estimated at 15-17 million people - almost 20% of the working-age population. Only in the middle of 1933, when people began to die en masse in New York, did the administration finally attend to providing minimal assistance to the unemployed and organized the distribution of free soup.

Agricultural prices fell 53%. Small farms went bankrupt. The country stopped sowing, the harvest of wheat and corn fell by half. Farmers were left without money and farms, but with huge debts. For a farm that cost $ 100,000 before the crisis, now they did not give even five. About a million families, and this is at least 5 million people, were forced to leave their plots, selected by banks, and go nowhere, without any means of survival. According to eyewitnesses, people gathered frozen vegetables left in the fields, ate leaves of bushes, caught birds and frogs.
Big lies and statistics
Now it is impossible to name the exact number of victims of the American Holodomor, since it is impossible to get acquainted with the official demographic statistics. There are simply no statistics for 1932. It appears later in the form of retrospective tables. If you believe them, from 1931 to 1940, according to the dynamics of population growth, the United States lost 8.5 million people, and the indicators change twice at once, fall exactly at the turn of 1930 and 1931 and freeze at this level for 10 years. Just as unexpectedly, after a decade, they return to their previous values.
Any demographer will confirm that a simultaneous double change in the indicators of population dynamics is possible only as a result of mass loss of life. Perhaps these people emigrated from the country, fleeing the difficult living conditions? But immigration statistics do not support this version in any way. Even if we correct the numbers as much as possible, taking into account the increased demographic base, we will still miss 7 million people.
State-by-state mortality data looks very strange. For example, child mortality rates in crisis years are much lower than in prosperous years. It is clear that in the absence of a passport system and registration at the place of residence, it was easy to hide the true numbers.
The term "Holodomor" itself appeared only in the 1980s. Before that they simply said - "hunger". "Holodomor" was invented and launched into circulation by the American political scientist and historian James Mace as part of disinformation and proxy war against the USSR. The media controlled by the US elites have been so actively promoting and promoting this topic that it involuntarily comes to mind: the thief himself shouts loudest of all.
The culmination of the Great Depression in the United States was also a mass famine with the important difference that there was food for the population and, as monstrous as it sounds, food supplies were systematically and purposefully destroyed. This was done to please the agrarian business lobby and was done on a grand scale: the grain was burned, drowned in the ocean, the fields were plowed with the harvest, tons of oranges were dumped on the ground and poured with kerosene, pork carcasses were buried in the ground. And all in order to prevent an even greater decline in food prices. Here is what an eyewitness to those events, Nobel Prize laureate John Steinbeck, wrote in the novel Grapes of Wrath: “People come with nets to catch potatoes from the river, but the guards drive them away … they stand in a daze and look at the potatoes floating by, hear the screeching of pigs, who are cut and covered with lime in ditches, look at the orange mountains,along which landslides of stinking slurry slide down … anger ripens in the eyes of the hungry ….
New course
In 1933, President Hoover was succeeded by President Roosevelt. It is generally accepted to position Roosevelt as the man who saved the United States and turned a terrible crisis. In many ways, this is exactly the case, but if Joseph Stalin is still blamed for dispossession and repression, then it is not customary to talk about Franklin Roosevelt's "public works" at all. But up to 9 million Americans have passed through the labor camps. For six years (this is the time that the American gulags existed) voluntary American prisoners built canals, roads, erected bridges, often in uninhabited and swampy malaria areas. They worked practically for nothing - as they say, for food."
Mortality statistics for these jobs, of course, are not available in any source. Why talk about dead workers or farmers, if in just a few years America will rise again to unattainable economic heights in the fat field of the "good war" blazing far beyond the ocean, becoming the world center of control for many years. Isn't the game worth the candle?
It seems that Franklin Roosevelt himself was no more than a bargaining chip in the big game. He died in April 1945, practically a few days before the end of World War II. The official diagnosis is cerebral hemorrhage. A very timely and very strange death. The President, contrary to custom, was buried in a closed coffin, without a posthumous autopsy, and American foreign policy literally immediately turned 180 °.
Home of double standards
Today, researchers disagree about the Holodomor in the United States. Someone speaks of millions of victims, someone believes that hunger in the most democratic country in the world is impossible in principle. Opponents of the American Holodomor theory refer to the absence of official documents; supporters believe that the concealment of statistics for the required year is already circumstantial evidence. And the position of the latter is not devoid of logic. The Anglo-Saxon elite has a lot of experience in manipulating the facts: something is skillfully hidden, but something is distorted and protruding. In addition, representatives of Western civilization have repeatedly demonstrated that all means are good for them in war and in business: from blankets infected with smallpox and poisonous gases to drugs and child prostitution.
The US Congress recognized the 1932-1933 famine in the USSR as the genocide of Ukrainians, but the Congress will never recognize either the Indian genocide or the artificial famine of the Great Depression. They simply cannot openly say that not a single Rockefeller will ever stop before the need to kill a couple of million compatriots, because his homeland is money, and money does not care about nationality. Even Karl Marx wrote that there is no such crime that capital would not go for the sake of 300% of the profit.
