Continuing the American-English theme, let us turn to extremely curious documents recently published on the Voice of Sevastopol website. The papers shed light on the proprietary technology that Americans and British people use to push their solutions to international organizations. It does not always work out, but they try their best, appealing directly to military discipline, using the NATO bloc as an instrument of openly forceful coercion of the member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance.
It works like this. Before an important vote anywhere, be it in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons or even at the UN General Assembly, US and British officials in NATO write a confidential letter to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. For Stoltenberg, this is an order. The Secretary General already through internal NATO channels informs the member states how to vote correctly in the interests of the Alliance. That is, nothing is left to chance, nothing is left to the discretion of the "democracies", because America and Great Britain know better as it should.
And here is one of these letters of orders was published in Sevastopol. Probably, somehow miraculously ended up at the disposal of our Navy. What? After all, sailors are also interested.

In addition to the military base, a secret CIA prison similar to Guantanamo was also located on the island.
Geographically, the point turned out to be so valuable that in the 60s the British did not hesitate to forcibly deport thousands of local residents. Every single one. International crime! Got away with it.
Sovereignty over the archipelago is contested by the state of Mauritius, a former British colony that gained independence in 1968. According to UN Declaration No. 1514, free Mauritius must preserve its territorial integrity. Everything would be so if the Americans and British did not consider that they themselves needed the island more.

By the way, the United States and England then remained in the minority at the UN General Assembly, their line on the annexation of the island was too impudent and impudent. But what difference does it make to them? This base, regardless of who and how will vote on it, the "sweet couple" will never give to anyone.
But today we are not so much talking about the base as about the mechanisms for controlling the position of the allies through NATO on a variety of issues and regions, even in the Indian Ocean, even in chemical attacks somewhere. A strict vertical of power has been built in NATO. At the very top are the States and Great Britain. Other countries that are vertically lower are only service personnel. Their job is to follow orders. To the public, this is called "solidarity." It should manifest itself in everything - from the Chagos archipelago to the expulsion of Russian diplomats. The discipline is military.
