Robert Maudsley celebrated his 64th birthday this year. He has spent his last 39 years in prison in solitary confinement (more than anyone in British history).

Robert Maudsley was born in Liverpool in 1953. He had 11 brothers and sisters. He grew up in a dysfunctional family, so he spent several years in an orphanage. Robert and the other children were often beaten by their parents. And worst of all, he was sexually abused. He began to abuse drugs as a teenager.

When Robert was 21 in 1974, a stranger invited him to fulfill his sexual needs. Robert killed him: strangling him and finally stabbing him with a knife.

At Broadmoor Hospital, he and another inmate took another inmate from their ward hostage.

Robert tortured and killed the prisoner who was with him in the hospital cell. The man's head was cut open with a knife. Robert confessed to eating part of his brain, earning an intimidating reputation as a cannibal. After that, he received the nickname "Spoon" and is considered one of the most dangerous criminals in Great Britain.

After the murder and cannibalism of another prisoner in 1977 at Broadmoor, Robert was transferred to Wakefield Prison. He didn't like this prison and wanted to return to Broadmoor. To express his dissatisfaction with the situation in life, he stabbed another prisoner.

Robert didn't finish killing at Wakefield. He said he loved the sight of blood, and went hunting for another victim. He managed to kill another inmate before being stopped by the guards.

Robert Maudsley selected persons convicted of crimes of a sexual nature as his victims.

After Robert was responsible for the death of 4 people, it was decided that he would never be released. A special cell was built for him because he was considered a serious threat to guards and other inmates.

Robert was held in various types of cells for many years during his imprisonment. His current cell is described as a glass cage, similar to the one in which Hannibal Lecter lived in Silence of the Lambs.

The BBC has released a documentary about R. Modsley. They were able to interview not only him, but also some of his siblings.

His brother Paul spoke about the abuse he and Robert suffered after their parents took them out of the orphanage. Father Maudsley beat the children one by one. He was a cruel tyrant. Because of the terrible relationship, Robert began to use drugs from an early age, several times he tried to commit suicide.

Robert developed an extreme hatred of pedophiles after suffering sexual abuse from childhood. This feeling of hatred grew over the years and turned into an animal thirst for the blood of those very lustful people.

In recent years, Robert has asked the prison authorities to relax his sentence. He also requested a cyanide pill to take his own life. Then, he asked for poultry. All his requests were rejected.

Parents who give birth to children, and then not just do not care about them, but mock them from the very childhood, commit terrible actions towards their children … What do you deserve? Robert's psyche was broken from the very beginning. He directed all his rage at people who, by their actions, in principle, deserved a bad attitude. Of course, letting him out into society is not worth it, and if he asks for the death penalty, is it necessary to satisfy his request?

What punishment do you think Robert deserves?
