I wanted to visit Ancient Egypt with all its monuments and structures. One of them makes a special impression. This is not about the pyramid of Cheops and the Sphinx, but about Osirion! How many of us have heard of him? I think no. But in vain! This building is worthy to be written about in history books.

Osirion became known only at the beginning of the twentieth century. At that time, there were active excavations of one of the most ancient cities of Egypt - Abydos. Archaeologists and historians have studied the Temple of the Seti (construction of the middle of the 2nd millennium BC). Suddenly, they discovered that another building was located below its level. When they started digging it up, they were very surprised.

The building was a structure consisting of large stone blocks. It was atypical for Ancient Egypt. Of course, pyramids with even larger blocks were built here. But in this case we were talking about an ordinary building. Why complicate the task of transporting such heavy monoliths?

History buffs will say that they have already seen a similar construction technology somewhere! To be precise, in South America. Even before its discovery by Columbus, polygonal masonry was widespread here. However, there was one important difference. The Indians have stones located at different angles in relation to each other. Osirion is made up of rectangular blocks.

The dating also raises questions. If the building was erected during the time of the pharaohs, then why was it placed below the level of the Temple of Seti? Perhaps it would have been built much later? This version is interesting, but has one drawback, which is why many scientists do not agree with it. In Osirion, the walls are covered with hieroglyphs. It turns out that the Egyptians built it?

Not everything is so simple. The building could have been used during the time of the pharaohs. But this does not mean that it was built during their reign. Osirion could have been built much earlier. Even thousands of years before Ancient Egypt. Over time, it was decided to attach a Seti temple to the building. Therefore, the impression was that the buildings belong to the same era!

But who was involved in the construction of Osirion? Before the pharaohs, there were no developed cultures and, moreover, no civilizations. And then the thought comes to mind about contacts with pre-Columbian America. Like, they decided to build Osirion in the architectural style used by the Indians in the construction of their cities. But there is one "but". In America, polygonal buildings are not that old. Or is there an error with the dating?

Many questions remain. Or maybe the researchers exaggerate everything because of one atypical building? What do you think about this?
