The local authorities decided to play on people's interest in everything unknown. They plan to turn the place of the meteorite fall into a tourist Mecca. World experience shows that such projects always bring super profits.
On July 30, 1908, at about 7 o'clock in the morning, a giant fireball flew over the territory of Central Siberia. In many settlements of Western Europe and Russia, that night there was an intense glow of the sky and unusually colorful twilight. Despite the efforts of domestic and foreign scientists, it was not possible to find an explanation for this phenomenon. “Currently, there are seven groups of interpretations and about 100 versions about the nature of the Tunguska phenomenon,” Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Grigory Feltarev told NI. - Among them are the icy comet nucleus, UFO, giant ball lightning, solar plasmoid. However, the most popular explanation today: the Earth collided with a cloud of cosmic dust. And the other day British scientists have thrown a new version. They claim that the Tunguska meteorite is one of the billions of planets roaming in the Universe.
In search of the truth, which is somewhere nearby, dozens of international expeditions come every year to Evenkia (Krasnoyarsk Territory) to unravel the mystery of the meteorite. Local authorities realized that this pilgrimage could well be turned into a real tourism business. Moreover, there is a reason - next year the Tunguska phenomenon will be one hundred years old. They decided to celebrate the anniversary of the riddle on an unprecedented scale: for this, even a creative commission was convened. Employees of the municipal district of Evenkia and the village of Vanavara, near which a meteorite fell, have already joined the organization of events. “It is planned to open an open-air museum in the village, to lay the route“Kulik's trail”- 80 km through swamps and taiga to the epicenter of the supposed place of the meteorite fall,- Nikolay Finashkin, the deputy head of the administration of the Evenk municipal district for culture and sports, told "NI". - Helipads will be built at the very place of the crash for visiting the "anomaly" by foreign guests. A cultural program will be developed especially for the expected tourists - with national cuisine, songs, dances and various competitions."
Experts are convinced: in this case, the game is worth the candle. The project is more than promising. All over the world, tourist business in anomalous zones and UFO crash sites brings huge dividends. The most famous example is the American city of Roswell (USA), in which, according to legend, a UFO disaster occurred. For over 60 years, the city has been living on tourism and the sale of related souvenirs. And the celebration of the legend's anniversary, during which a three-day festival was held and a space amusement park opened, brought the local authorities millions of dollars.
