Novosibirsk citizens published a video on Youtube called "UFO Novosibirsk" on Wednesday. Astrophysicist Alfiya Nesterenko believes that the object filmed by eyewitnesses could have been an aircraft model or a toy.
The video shows a small luminous object in the form of a white spot moving across the sky of Novosibirsk.
“The white object… that descended to the surface of the Earth, releasing a trail of steam, could be anything. Now they sell a lot of flying toys, and in the aircraft modeling circles, the guys make many models that work on both gasoline engines and engines using such fuel that can release a white smoke trail, Nesterenko told RIA Novosti on Thursday.
The interlocutor explained that a "UFO" with a steam or gasoline engine could not fly the distance more than from Berdsk to Novosibirsk. Since the object is very small and could not have the necessary fuel supply.
“If this object appeared in the Earth's atmosphere from distant space, most likely it would look a little different. Yes, and the "approach" as such did not take place, the object would simply fall like an ordinary object with an acceleration typical of free fall, "Nesterenko said.
