In 2006 in London, under the building of one of the orphanages, a tightly walled basement was discovered.
Inside were hundreds of large boxes containing thousands of artifacts worthy of a classic horror movie, including mysterious skeletons and mysterious manuscripts. Some of them are shown below. We must warn you that this is not a sight for the faint of heart!
These artifacts are called the "Merlin's Cryptides Collection" because they (according to the most popular version) belonged to the cryptozoologist, aristocrat and biologist Thomas Theodore Merlin, born in 1782. This man dedicated his life to collecting and studying strange, mystical species.

Are these artifacts genuine? We have no idea. One thing is clear - they are very strange and incredibly attractive.
PS: Recently a book has been released, which claims that these artifacts are in fact a hoax, the work of a London illustrator, writer and sculptor named Alex CF.
