Despite the fact that the modern Society of Supporters of the Flat Earth Theory appeared in 1956, until now its representatives have never organized international conventions. Now members of this organization from all over the earth's disk (and how could it be otherwise, not from the globe, in their opinion) gathered in the city of Raleigh, North Carolina, to hold the first ever International Conference.
Darryl Marble, famous for taking a measuring level on a plane to prove the plane of the Earth, spoke at the event. She was accompanied by Mark Sargent, promoting the idea that we all live under a giant dome. The topics of the conference were the following: "NASA and other space liars", "Flat Earth and the scientific method", "Testing the sphericity of the Earth" and so on.
By the way, at the conference, for example, the issue of space travel of earthlings was discussed in all seriousness, or rather, about the hoax of such travel, since, according to supporters of the flat Earth theory, no one has ever flown into space, not even Yuri Gagarin, not to mention American lunar projects, which even orthodox scientists today ridicule. The congress, according to the organizers, was attended by over 8 hundred people. How many inhabitants of our planet believe that it is flat is still impossible to say. Even the last conference found it difficult to answer this question, although approximate figures of several million people were named. But most importantly, thanks to the Internet, the number of flat earth supporters is constantly growing. This is already an indisputable fact, which is quite surprising and depressing to some scientists: is another world religion being born?..
