From time immemorial, people have observed strange phenomena in the sky. And it wasn't just UFOs. There is a lot of evidence of the appearance of mysterious images of people and various objects in the sky.

Signs from Above

The appearances of the Mother of God, saints and angels in the sky are described more than once. One of the earliest documented episodes occurred on October 3, 1843 in England. A peasant named Charles Cooper worked in a field near Warwick Castle. Suddenly he heard a roar coming from above and, raising his head, saw a strange-shaped cloud in the sky, above which three white figures similar to human beings hovered. They seemed to be addressing Cooper, but he could not make out the words: it was more like trumpets …

It turned out that the cloud was also observed by other peasants working in the fields several miles away. True, except for Cooper, no one saw the white pieces or heard the "trumpet". By the way, despite the rather windy weather, the cloud remained in one place for a long time.

On the evening of June 20, 1990, a resident of Odessa, Yekaterina Chuprina, looked out the window and saw a gray cloud in the sky, shaped like a bean. Then it split into two halves, and in the cut between them appeared something like an armchair or a throne, on which sat a woman surrounded by golden radiance in a long robe with a crown on her head. Catherine admired this picture for a quarter of an hour, but then left the room for a few minutes, and when she returned and looked out the window again, there was nothing but small white clouds, somehow regular round in shape and exactly the same size.

In early October of the same year in Moldova, the passengers of the bus, following the last evening flight from the village of Vadul-Turkului to Rybnitsa, saw in a completely cloudless sky, as it were, a giant female figure of orange color. The profile of the woman, her fluffy loose hair, a light cape covering her legs were clearly visible … The vision lasted for half an hour, and then melted, turning into a yellowish spot.

On October 11, 1991, during the hostilities in Transnistria, the figure of a giant woman appeared in the sky, in which many recognized the Mother of God. They say that after that, some laid down their arms, since, according to them, the Mother of God called for peace, and not for war.

The so-called battles in heaven were also observed quite often. For example, in 1785, in the Silesian town of Uist, the solemn funeral of General von Kosel took place. During the funeral ceremony, people noticed soldiers marching in the sky. The second time, the ghostly soldiers appeared in the sky after the funeral.

In his work Black Magic in the History of Great Britain, Ronald Holmes describes several episodes, starting from the 16th century, when marching warriors were seen in the sky.

In November 1956, Peter and Patrick Skipunt watched as several dozen medieval Scottish warriors fought in the area of Mount Cuillin. The locals told them that they were not the first to see the "heavenly battle". It was assumed that this is either a fragment of a military battle of the 13th century, or a picture of the popular uprising of 1745.

Often, such pictures appeared over the battlefields. One of the first such mentions is found in the Russian annals for March 1111. Chronicle pages refer to the battle between Russians and Polovtsy. As follows from the above, the Russian soldiers defeated the Polovtsians, although they had a significant superiority. When the latter were asked why they lost, the answer was the following: "How could we defeat you when others in heaven were traveling with a bright and terrible weapon, helping you."

In July 1242, after the historic victory of the Novgorod prince Alexander Nevsky over the Swedes, he and his retinue rode along the banks of the Izhora River. And when they reached the middle of the river, they saw a "regiment of angels" moving across the sky. They soon found many dead enemies on the ground.

Many times similar phenomena took place during the Battle of Kulikovo. On the night of September 8, 1380, the head of the Russian guards on the Chyura River Foma Katsybei saw in the sky two bright youths who, in front of his eyes, destroyed a whole regiment of busurman with the words: "Who told you to destroy our fatherland?"

On the same night, Vasily Kapitsa and Semyon Antonov from the camp of Dmitry Donskoy watched in the heavens a vision of the holy Apostle Peter, who was executing the Ethiopian army on horses and chariots. Peter asked them: "Why did you come to destroy the flock?" And then, with his wand, he began to pierce them through. Those. who managed to escape, fled, many of them drowned in the river … The rest writhed on the ground from their wounds. Eyewitnesses reported the miracle to the prince, and he ordered to be silent about it.

In the course of the battle, the strength of the Russian soldiers began to dry up, and then the heavenly army, led by the archangel Michael, came to their aid. The heavenly warriors began to hit the Tatars with “fiery arrows”, and Mamai and his retinue were forced to flee. They were chased to the River Beautiful Sword …

In 1579, during Yermak's campaign to Siberia, Khan Kuchum more than once had a chance to observe a bright cloud in the sky, in which visions of future battles appeared. Moreover, most often their outcome was unfavorable for the khan's army. Sometimes, with an unfavorable "prognosis", the soldiers simply refused to go out into the field.

Another such case relates to the period of the Crimean War. On November 19, 1853, in a battle at Bashkadyklar, a detachment of Russian soldiers numbering nine thousand people completely defeated the Turks, of whom there were four times more. Many Turks were captured. Subsequently, they said that during the battle they saw a dazzlingly shining female figure above the Russian army, holding a banner in her hand. She was accompanied by two other figures, whom the Turks recognized as Russian soldiers. The Turkish soldiers were so scared that they dropped their weapons. The battle was lost. At the same time, the Russians did not notice anything special and did not understand why the Turks surrendered so easily …

"Portraits" Soaring In The Air

Cases are known when portraits of human faces appeared in the sky. On June 22, 1941, on the day of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, residents of the town of Kotelnich, Kirov Region, watched a white cloud floating across the sky, which stopped above the spire of the church on Kotelnicheskaya Gora, thickened and suddenly took the form of an oblong dish on which a human head lay. After some time, eyewitnesses easily recognized her … Hitler! The similarity with the numerous portraits of the Fuhrer on posters and in newspapers was detailed: mustache, hair combed obliquely … Many began to cross themselves. A few minutes later, the image began to deform, blur, and soon turned back into an ordinary cloud, which continued its way across the sky. Most eyewitnesses immediately decided: this is a sign from above,he points to the impending defeat of Nazi Germany.

On October 10, 1967, over the Tiksi Bay, an employee of a geophysical station observed a beautiful woman's face in the sky. The picture was as if woven from shining rays and precious stones, and the woman's eyes sparkled like stars. This phenomenon was accompanied by a sound background. The sound sounded like a distorted, metallic-human voice. But the words could not be made out.

In 1983, over the Yakut city of Srednekolymsk, a portrait of an unknown man, who looked about 50 years old, hung for almost three hours. True, they could not identify him.

These phenomena are explained in different ways. Some - a game of imagination or massive hallucinations, some - chronomirages, some - real manifestations of otherworldly forces. But such things happen too often, and they have so many eyewitnesses that it can hardly be fiction.
