In the early morning of May 18, 2017, after a serious long illness at the age of 51, Vadim Alexandrovich Chernobrov passed away - the leader and ideological inspirer of the Kosmopoisk public association for 20 years, which, thanks to his efforts, has long since grown into an international movement. This sad news was absolutely unexpected for the numerous members of the association.

Vadim Chernobrov was born in 1965 in Grozny, spent his childhood in the Volgograd region, graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), having received the education of an engineer in the aerospace industry, then graduate school. He became interested in studies of anomalous phenomena in 1980, participated in the activities of the ufological group F. Yu. Siegel. Since 1997, he headed the public expeditionary association (now it is the all-Russian public research association) "Cosmopoisk". During all this time, under the leadership of V. A. Chernobrov, more than 770 expeditions of a wide range of thematic focus were carried out: from anomalous phenomena, mysterious artifacts, historical mysteries to places where cosmic bodies fell and global natural disasters. It cannot be stressed here, that the pivotal themes of Vadim Aleksandrovich's research were the themes of space and the possibility of time travel. The legacy left by him will exist not only in dozens of books and encyclopedias published by him, but will also continue to live in the hearts of people united by his energy, ideas and enthusiasm.

Farewell to Vadim Chernobrov and funeral took place this Saturday, May 20. The Ufokom project joins numerous condolences to the family and friends of Vadim Alexandrovich. This is a great loss for all of us.

Recently, several people have passed away who were directly involved in the study of the secrets and mysteries of our planet. On September 15, 2016, Andrei Yuryevich Sklyarov, the founder and ideological leader of the "Laboratory of Alternative History" project, died, known for a number of books and films on the theme of mysteries of the ancient history of mankind. On January 4, 2017, Tatyana Valerievna Faminskaya, the chief methodologist of the Association "Ecology of the Unknown", left us. During the Soviet era, she made a lot of efforts to organize systemic research as part of the Commissions on anomalous phenomena of the SNIO (VSNTO) of the USSR and the problems of dowsing at NTO RES named after A. S. Popov. On April 8, 2017, Georgy Mikhailovich Grechko, a pilot-cosmonaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, an honorary member and one of the organizers of the Cosmopoisk ONIO, passed away.
