22-year-old pilot Frederik VALENTICH flew at 18.19 in "Cessna-182" to the south-southwest, not knowing that from 14 to 18.45 in the afternoon, i.e. literally half an hour earlier, the flight of two cigar-shaped objects was seen in the strait. UFOs were observed from the ground and during the flight of Valentich, at the moment when alarming messages began to come from him. From a fragment of a tape recording: "… It seems to me that he is playing some kind of game with me … He flew over me at a speed that I cannot determine … I confirm … This is not an airplane, this is … (Valentich is silent into the microphone for 3 seconds) … He flew past now, it has an elongated shape … I can't identify it with anything but … (Silence for 3 seconds) … Now it returns to my right again … I make a right turn, and the object also turns over me. Green light emanates from it but outside it has a metallic sheen … "The aircraft of Valentich disappeared without a trace, judging by the radio communications, it was intercepted in the air by an unknown cigar-shaped object and possibly abducted.

The case of the disappearance of Valentich's plane was widely discussed in the Western, and later in the Russian media. Meanwhile, even in Russia, it is practically not known that on the same evening, strange UFO sightings were recorded on the territory of the USSR, in the Urals. We must agree that that evening there were massive UFO sightings over areas distant from each other by about 12 thousand km. Later, the media repeatedly reported that this or that contactee entered into telepathic contact with Valentich (allegedly, among other things, he reported that he had been kidnapped in order to "forcibly work on an alien cargo ship stealing oxygen from Earth"), however, such "messages" can hardly be taken seriously. While the disappearance of Valentich's plane can be called an incredible fact without a doubt.
