Twenty-year-old pilot Frederic Valetnich tried to acquire the necessary flying experience and fly the necessary time to obtain a commercial license. He was piloting the single-engine Cessna-182, flying to King Island, located 160 kilometers from Melbourne, Australia.

However, he did not land on the island in due time.

On Saturday, October 21, 1978 at 19.06, his last radiogram was received by the Melbourne Mission Control Center. Since then, nothing has been known about the pilot. This disappearance is a unique case in the history of aviation.

Just before his voice suddenly cut off during a conversation with dispatchers, Valentich reported that he saw four bright green lights about three hundred meters above his plane: then a strange game. I am not able to assess the speed of their movement."

This was followed by a long silence, interrupted when the dispatcher asked to identify the object. The young pilot replied: "This is not an airplane, this is …" and contact was lost, as it turned out, forever.

Intensive searches from land, sea and air have been conducted by the Australian Navy and Air Force since Bas Strait, the last radio contact with Valentine, 35 kilometers from King Island and 160 kilometers from Melbourne.

However, these searches did not give any result: not a single trace of the pilot or his car was found. It was determined that the weather conditions at the time of the disappearance were ideal, visibility was unrestricted and the breeze was mild.

The pilot's father Guido Valentich was absolutely sure that his son was still alive, or rather, that he had been abducted by alien beings. More importantly, the elder Valentich spoke about his son's fascination with unidentified flying objects. Father even mentioned that Frederick had said that he had seen one of them ten months earlier.

There were many more witnesses who called the police on that very Saturday night and reported that they saw a UFO. A spokesman for the Royal Australian Air Force said there were ten reports of UFO sightings from different people over the weekend.

This photo was taken on the day of the disappearance.

This whole mysterious story took on an even stranger turn years later. According to information confirmed by many eyewitnesses, a man calling himself Frederick Valentich, an Australian pilot who mysteriously disappeared in 1978, was alive and well 12 years later, in 1990 he was seen vacationing on the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands).

Showing an Australian passport to prove his claims, Valentich told various interlocutors several times that he now belongs to a group of people recruited by aliens.

It is also important to note that the person who called himself Valentich did not notice any external changes, he looked exactly the same as in the photograph taken shortly before his disappearance at the age of about twenty.

Quite an interesting story, isn't it? It would be especially interesting to know what Valentich was doing at this resort. Did the aliens give him a few days of rest?
