The disaster with an alien aircraft that took place in the area of Roswell on July 2, 1947 was turned into a myth by the efforts of American intelligence.
But on September 24, 1947, US President Harry Truman signed an order to organize and conduct the so-called Operation Majestic 12 (MS-12), addressed to the Secretary of State for Defense Affairs James Forrestal. The order was preceded by a meeting between President Truman, Dr. Vanever Bush and the CIA director, at which the events of July 2, 1947 in the Roswell area were discussed.
It is worth quoting this order: “With regard to our recent conversation on this case, you are authorized to continue our venture with the utmost speed and attention … Hereinafter, this subject will be referred to as Operation Majestic Twelve. It continues to be my conviction that any future considerations regarding plans in this case should remain entirely within the jurisdiction of the President's Office …”.
A preliminary report on Operation Majestic 12 on the results of research on the alien aircraft and the bodies of the pilots was prepared on November 18, 1952 by the first CIA director, Admiral Roscoe Hillencoter. The report was addressed to the newly elected US President Eisenhower. The report says that "Operation Majestic 12" is a top secret research and development operation, reporting directly, and only to the President of the United States … ".
On July 14, 1954, Special Assistant to President Eisenhower, Robert Cutler, signed a memorandum addressed to General Twining, Chief of Aviation Materials at Wright-Patterson AFB. The topic of the memorandum was the MS-12 special research project.
The memo said: “The President has decided that the report on MS-12 will take place during a cabinet meeting already scheduled for July 16 at the White House. More precise instructions will be explained to you upon arrival … . As indicated in the President's daily schedule, on July 16, 1954, from 8:50 am to 9:00 am, President Eisenhower hosted a lending reception. At 9 o'clock, a desk meeting began, which lasted two hours. The subject of discussion was research on the Majestic-12 project.
The content of this report was a seven-sealed mystery until 1984, when a roll of undeveloped film containing Hillencoter's report was tossed in an envelope to TV producer Jaime Sandere by an anonymous person. Only after 2.5 years of careful scrutiny, the president of the research organization William Moore, whose assistant is Sandera, made some of the documents public.
For the first time documents about MS-12 with commentary were prepared by the chairman of the executive committee of the "Foundation for UFO Research" (USA) Bruce Massabi in June 1987. But for the wider public, Roscoe Hillencoter's report of November 18, 1952 was published in Tim Goode's unique book 1988 Top secret / Masic (for eyes only) begins with a civilian pilot's observation of nine disc-shaped aircraft over the Cascade Mountains, Washington on June 24, 1947.

But the most important thing starts with the following words: “Nothing significant was learned about the sites until a local farmer reported that one of these sites had an accident in the remote area of New Mexico, located about 75 miles to the north. -west of Roswell Air Base (now Walker Field).
On July 7, 1947, a covert operation was launched to ensure the evacuation of the remains of this object for scientific study.
During this operation, aerial reconnaissance found that 4 humanoid creatures had ejected from the ship at some point before the explosion.
A dedicated scientific team took part in moving these bodies for study (see Appendix C).
The remains of the ship have also been shuffled to several different locations (see Appendix B). Civilian and military observers at the scene were interviewed, and reporters were given a spectacular legend that the object was a weather balloon off course. A closed analytical effort orchestrated by General Twining and Dr. Bush, acting on direct orders from the President, led to an agreement (September 19, 1947) that the disk was most likely a short-range reconnaissance ship. This conclusion was based on the size of the ship and the apparent absence of any traces of food supplies (see Appendix E).
Similar analyzes of the four dead inhabitants of the ship were organized by Dr. Bronk.
Since it has actually been established that this ship does not originate from any country on Earth, some scientists, most notably Dr. Menzel, believe that we are most likely dealing with beings from a different solar system.
Numerous examples of what appears to be a form of writing have been found in the rubble. Attempts to decipher them have remained largely unsuccessful (see Appendix E).
Equally unsuccessful have been attempts to determine the principle of operation of the engine or the method of transmission of energy.
Research in these areas was complicated by the complete absence of wings, propellers, jet engines or other conventional means of generating thrust and control, as well as the complete absence of metal wires, vacuum tubes or similar electronic components (see Appendix F). It is assumed that the propulsion block was completely destroyed by the explosion that caused the accident.
In December 1950, a second object, possibly of similar origin, struck the ground at high speed in the Indio-Gerero region of the Tehano-Mexican border after following an extended trajectory through the atmosphere.
By the time the research team arrived, what remained of the object had almost completely burned down.
Anything that could be evacuated was transferred to the Air Force training ground in Sandia, New Mexico for study.
It is in the national security interest that it remains important that the motives and ultimate goals of these visitors are completely unknown.
It is for these reasons, as well as for international and technological considerations and the urgent need to avoid public panic at all costs, that the unanimous opinion of the Majestic-12 group remains that the strictest security measures should be maintained without interruption and during the work of the new administration. At the same time, the emergency plan MS-1949-048 / 78 (top secret - for the eyes only) must be kept ready in case the need arises to inform the public about the nature of the operation."
Now a little critical review. Critics were attacked by the figure of Donald Menzel. In their opinion, such a fierce opponent of the alien nature of UFOs and a purely civilian could not be a member of the MS-12 group, and besides, a CIA employee. Skeptics can be convinced of the opposite by reading Stanton Friedman's article "The Secret Life of Donald Menzel," published in the International UFO Herald, in the January / February 1988 issue. Skeptics were also objected to the number 0 before July 7, but … Admiral Lord Hill Norton, former British Chief of General Staff, recently told Tim Good that "NATO documents have always used the number 0 before the single digit of the date in my day." He also added: "It seems to me perfectly plausible that the document is genuine." But, perhaps, the point is put by Dr. Roger W. Wescott,Professor of Linguistics and Anthropology at Drew University (Madison). He compared the style of Eisenhower's speech to the style of 27 other documents, written in Hillencoter's hand. In a letter to lawyer Robert Bletchham dated April 7, 1988, Wescott stated the following: “… In my opinion, there is no reason to consider any of these messages to be fraudulent and to believe that any of them were written by anyone. yet, except for Hillencoter himself. " This statement applies both to the memorandum of November 18, 1952 and to letters, personal and official. Add to this the affidavit of former head of the Washington Institute of Technology Robert Sarbacher, who confirmed that his colleagues, including Dr. Vanever Bush, actually studied the crashed UFOs and the bodies of the pilots. Perhaps Senator Goldwater is right when he wrote in 1975 that "… I heard that there is an upcoming plan to release some, if not all of this material …"
At present, only the brief report on Operation MS-12 itself has been published, prepared on November 18, 1952 by Roscoe Hillencoter. Attachments C, C, D, E, F, G, N. have not yet been published. The co-owners of the film with full information about the report are William Moore, his assistant James Sandera and the Canadian researcher Stanton Friedman.
Now the information is published only from 8 frames of the film.
The publication of all annexes to the Hillencoter report will finally put everything in its place.
