The Dancing Forest, which stands on the Curonian Spit in the Kaliningrad Region, is a small area of the forest where pines are bizarrely curved, twisted into spirals or completely branched.

The reason for this growth of trees, which are a little more than half a century old, is unknown. Scientists refer to the possible geomagnetic effect of the tectonic crack, but cannot prove it. Ufologists, on the other hand, keep repeating about the interference of an alien mind, as in the case of the mysterious crop circles, but they also cannot support their assumptions with facts.

In 2006, small trees were planted here, grown from seeds taken from straight and curved pine trees. The goal of the experiment is to see if they will also bend. Observations from 2014 showed that the growth of trees is unnaturally slowed down, as if something is interfering with them, but so far they are growing straight. If the pines grow unbent, then this will call into question the version of scientists.

Several hiking trails pass through the fairy forest so that people can admire the "dancing" miracle of nature without harming it. Even a simple hug of trees for a successful shot gradually leads to the erasure of the bark, without which the pines will simply die.

To preserve the Dancing Forest, enthusiasts suggested giving the trees a name based on what they look like. According to their idea, the named trees will be given not only more attention, but also more to take care of them.
