Home to Project Blue Book and a series of systematic UFO studies from 1951 to 1969, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, ranks alongside Area 51 as the subject of constant alien speculation. Many of the rumors surrounding Wright-Patterson are known to be related to what could have happened inside a warehouse called Hangar 18. Conspiracy theorists believe that the government hid there material evidence obtained during their investigation about UFO wreckage and alien autopsies in this mysterious warehouse. The most interesting is the allegedly sealed, heavily guarded place, called the "Blue Room".
The legend of Hangar 18 dates back to an alleged UFO crash in the desert near Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947. According to the US Air Force press release at the time, their personnel examined the UFO and sent it up. A second press release from Fort Worth Air Force Base, Texas, claimed the disk was a meteorological balloon. However, in 1994, this statement was found to be untrue. The Air Force admitted that it was testing a device for monitoring nuclear research facilities in the Soviet Union. But besides Fort Worth, many UFO enthusiasts believe that some of the Roswell material was also transported after the disaster at Wright Patterson and is stored in Hangar 18, based on unverified rumors from former military pilots.
